So, let me try a little again.
Great losses to many of our teammates. Happy early birthday to @Gidgitgoescrazy! @Terytha Glad that your doctor appointment went well overall. Sorry about the yucky test, but hopefully you will have answers.
@eggfreak. SO as I'm writing this, I thought, it may just be a fun thing for anyone in Waistaways to try one Zoom trivia midwinter and it could be all about healthy stuff/knowledge, etc....;)
Even if I feel overwhelmed with so many things to take care of, I do enjoy organizing and planning for fun things. -- I was just thinking the other day that it might be fun to Zoom with any members of the team that are so inclined. Trivia sounds like an added bonus and could definitely be fun and funny!! I would be in if we wanted to try this out. Your Octoberfest party sounds great.
My girl is sleeping and I made getting on my mat for some Pilates a priority today. I do really miss it. I don't know why I don't make myself do it more regularly. So this week, I got in a couple walks (20 and 40 minute) and this 16 minute pilates workout. Other things I've done show up as exercise on my fitbit, but weren't actual workouts.
Hope everyone is having a good day. I weigh in tomorrow and according to the scale today, I'm up again. I'm not ready to give up on my experiment yet. But my scale is going the wrong way. I don't want to have to log everyday for the rest of my life to keep myself in check. That would not be fun. So we will see what tomorrow brings.
As for the little one, this was "Colors" week. We've had a lot of fun learning about colors. Today we went on a color hunt around the house. Can't post photos but it's cute. There's no food there so I guess it's not necessary anyway.
Welcome to all our new friends/teammates! So glad to have you hear.2 -

I tried not to have a gain this week but couldn't pull it off. At least it was less than a pound. More importantly is that I'm ending this month 3+ pounds lighter than I started the month, so that's a win-win. Plus i figured out that simply focusing on creating a calorie deficit every day helps a lot. (There were several days this month where I didn't have a deficit, but that's ok. I'll keep trying.)
It has been a crazy busy week, and I'm exhausted and headed for bed. I'll post again tomorrow with more details. Hopefully I'll have a few minutes to catch up on reading everyone's posts.5 -
@Gidgitgoescrazy Happy almost birthday and the cake sounds really good. I like chocolate but chocolate cake is definitely not my go to. I love trying new cakes🎂!
@Terytha Sounds like an interesting appointment some good, some bad, but nice work on the blood pressure! That takes some serious effort.
@Kali225 Glad you made it here! Welcome to a supportive group.
@micki48 and @jguldi11 I'm really interested in not logging anymore as well. I know I tried in the past and only maintained, but I was thinking about it...
I have a lot of new habits and I have a much better sense of portions than I did a year ago. I also exercise regularly now. There were some other good points I came up with this morning but it's 9:30 at night now😁🤪 I brought it up with my goal specialist in noom and asked if she had any tips. I will share if she has more info.
I like the idea of a zoom thing. Maybe a show and tell or something fun like share a favorite childhood picture or something 🤔
I had a free day and ate a lot of food. I needed a free day. It has been a long time!5 -

I feel very salted up. Glad it’s showing a tiny loss because it wasn’t like that yesterday. Had a very salt loaded dinner last night 🌮. I sure can feel it today. I feel like I need fruit and fresh foods today and LOTS of 💦.
Rainy this weekend here. Remnants of Hurricane Laura. Not sure what the plan is going to be today. My daughter wants the two of us to drink wine and virtual shop today. Lol Benefits of a grown child.
@conleywoods I would love to figure out how to not log all the time and lose. I am pretty much maintaining logging or not lately. So maybe I’m not very good at logging because I show no loss even when I log with calorie deficits. I am also in the midst of heading to menopause. It’s been close to 280 days. 🤞🏼
@evangsimmons170 Congratulations on a net loss this month. You’ve done some insightful thinking about your data. Glad it’s working for you. I’m still trying to find my formula at this stage. I can’t remember the last month I’ve had a net loss. 😳1 -
Hang in there gang! I hear a lot of logging fatigue out there. I know it is sad to contemplate a lifetime of logging, but I have been maintaining for 8 years now, and the only way I can really stay there is to log most of the time. Sure, I skip a lot of days, but it almost always goes a bit sideways because I'm the kind of person who hides the bad stuff. I don't log when I'm going out of bounds. Sometimes I get tough and log everything no matter what, but when I start avoiding logging for the wrong reasons, I absolutely have to get back to it quickly or the gains just start. It has mostly just become something I do, it takes very little time, and I tend to eat the same things over and over, so it is quick. All that to say, for me, logging is necessary even if it isn't perfect. I don't measure and weigh anymore, I'm not fanatical about it, but I keep doing it because it works. Streamline by using "meals" and "recipes", use the app not the web (if you log on mfp, it is the one thing that is better on the app!), and just do it. Think of it like brushing your teeth. It's bad for your health if you skip it too much!
Lots to do today! This was my office yesterday - we brought in a LOT of wood, and it is all nicely stacked in the cellar now. But today it is raining, so it is back to room painting and house work. And dealing with all those zucchini...

Liselyn...that's a lot of logs and logging.3

Last weigh in: 174.8
Could be worse, given how many painkillers I downed yesterday after hurting my back. -_-4 -
Yes, I will begin again, just maybe after this chaotic week. For months I used to log every night before I went to bed for the next day. I must try to get in to that again. My nicely prepped salad from 2 days ago is still sitting in the fridge. I am just a little ( a lot!) out of control at the moment.2 -

Ok ok Liselyn. You are the expert and queen 👑 of maintenance. I will go back to logging (mostly) this week and see how it goes. I’ve got to have a net loss one of these months. Let’s make it September (How did it get to be September?? Wasn’t it just March?!)
I’m getting pandemic fatigue. I don’t know about the rest of you (well some of you I know) but we still stay at home pretty much all the time except for groceries. I know I should get out in nature more. That inertia thing effects my husband more than me. You know an object at rest remains at rest. It’s hard to get him out when there wasn’t a pandemic. 😂 I miss going out on Saturdays and listening to live jazz. Oh well, I’m doing what we feel we need to do. Some day it will be history. Did I mention I’ve been journaling every (almost) day sine this started (March13th) I am now starting my THIRD journal!!😳 Some day my family of the future may be interested in my first hand account of the pandemic of 2020.
On to September...❤️🤞🏼🦠6 -
Oh Michele - I hear that fatigue and know it well. There are so many things to miss, and the inertia is huge. You are amazing to keep a journal - you can bet there are many people who will be interested. How we manage to get through this will be varied and full of uncertainty. And time warps!
Off to the shower - very late exercise today!2 -
It's the end of the day here. It was busy today and I spent too long at my computer doing continuing ed but I have finished up a couple classes and I am really close on two more. I didn't get my walk in until after dinner and it felt like torture having to wait that long. I really count on exercise for stress relief.
@micki48 I am going to try the no logging route for a while and I will let you know how it goes. I am going to weigh daily and I think I will take pictures of everything I eat. Obviously keeping a food log has a lot to do with math. There is also some solid research showing that seeing what you ate last can have a positive impact on weight loss and how much you eat at the next meal. It doesn't matter if you see the meal in pictures or writing. @jugar you can say I told you so if it doesn't work out! Fair warning I'm very stubborn and can out wait the most stubborn of toddlers.3 -
