hi there, just noticed this forum and would love to get involved even if I'm late to the game. Decided when Scotland went into lockdown in march that I was going to use that time to do something about my weight and make a difference. Now as the seasons change and the nights become longer and colder I am finding it harder to make the shift from salads and the likes to heavier more comforting foods while keeping my calories down. So think this will be good motivation.
so here goes..., 2 months till the Santa man comes and hoping to lose 20lbs by then.

    Starting weight (march): 260lbs

    weight on the 26/10/20: 236lbs

    Goal weight (for Christmas): 216lbs

Hi All, I’d love to join this challenge. I’ve been using MFP for 2 weeks now. Finally decided eating and drinking with reckless abandon was not the way to go. Starting weight 278.8, today 270. My goal is to lose 1 pound a week and walk at least 6 days a week. With the cooler weather and holidays coming up, this is a great way to help to stay on track.

    Whoop, whoop! I’m excited!

Not finding it more difficult to lose weight (not at final wt yet.) I do find that I have to completely avoid the news at night. When I started avoiding the news at night, my stress level went down, and everything became a bit easier.

From my starting weight.... I just did the math, and I lost 9 lbs. in October. Yes, it is a good feeling; however, September was slow. I started September at 194. Gained 0.4 my first week. Stayed the same for the week after. Then the September total was 2.4 lbs. lost. I tracked everything, stayed w/i my calorie goals. I just kept looking forward. So, my point here, is please don't give up!

    SW: 185.6
    10/29: 185.6
    11/2: 184.4

So, I found myself in a binge/restrict cycle for a week there, so we're going to up my calories and lose slower intentionally. Going for .5 lb a week, and if I get more than that, great. Happy November, everyone!

10/30: 247.6-I questioned this one but I weighted several times and kept getting the same result...
10/31: 247.4 I guess the previous day was correct too..? I even had a few beers that night so..idk
11/1: 254-ish. I knew that this day was gonna be rough lol. I rarely drink a lot anymore except for the occasional two beers every now and again-but this one really surprised me and I am trying to keep positive with the water retention and all that lol. Still didn't expect to see that big of a spike though...
11/2: 254-ish I didn't record with my phone/bluetooth scale so I don't have the exact number but I knew it was similar to yesterday's. I am proud of the fact that I did keep my eating in check while drinking-no mindless snacking but eating when I was hungry. I'll be glad to see that number go down again lol.

    highest weight: 165lbs
    weight at october 1st: 14bs

hopefully i will be at 138lbs at the start of december and 133lbs by the end of the year.

    is this realistic?

I ain't got nutten yet but I'll think up something cause I like this idea!

    Please standby.

So I'm going to keep it simple. I'll aim for losing 10 pounds and 2.5 inches around the waistline.
For transparency, as of this AM I weigh 211.4 pounds and measure 47.5 inches around my big fat belly.
Think I’m picking the worst time of the year to try and lose weight, but hey, I do like a challenge.

I've been a bad boy Abbott!

Not really eating right or exercising enough but I was down this AM to 210.8 but my scale has been known to lie. The tape measure on the other hand can't lie as easily, I am down to 46.5 on the waistline, so a victory there eh!
So 9.6 pounds to go and 1.5 inches to lose.
    Have a great day everybody.

I am also adding to my challenge NLT three days of 30 minutes of activity.

209.8 today and waistline is 46.25, that's down a pound and 1/4 inch. YAY ME!
Been doing well with the 3x30 workouts as well.

I'd say it is realistic, especially if you are determined to do so. With hard work and determination much can be accomplished. If I may, I would suggest also tracking your body measurements. That with tracking your weight gives you a more holistic picture of what's going on.
Example I track my waistline in this thread however, I also track legs chest and arms. Since I lift I have seen a little growth in my arms and legs which leads me to believe I have put on a little muscle. Ever so little, but there all the same. At the same time my waistline has gone down as has other chunky areas. Therefore, I can surmise that while my body weight has been slow to go down, my over all health has gone up.
Anyway, I do believe that you goals are completely realistic.
Good luck, not that you'll need it.
