Friday weigh in
PW: 88.3 kg
CW 88.6 kg
I will put this down as water retention due to my running. A lot of sore muscles so I hope this isn't actual weight gain. I'm also lacking fibre which is causing some 'plumbing' problems.
Onwards and upwards!
I can't keep up with all the newbies but a very warm welcome to all!4 -
Good morning!
How do we find our previous posts? I want to make sure I’m keeping up. Haha I’m getting a bit better with this app everyday.
I’m a Mom of 3 women, and 3 grandkids. My youngest, and only one home is 16 Wow. Time really flies. I stay home, and take care of my Mom who lives with us.
I’m super excited and motivated for the November challenge to begin.
Cheers!4 -

Friday reminder for everyone having a rough time that every hour of every day is a new start. You don't even have to wait for morning to make a decision for your health. I myself started this weight loss journey at around 2 pm on a Saturday.
Take a moment during every afternoon to consider that all our choices add up, and one or two bad ones won't negate all the good ones.
I dyed my hair purple last night and I'm going to work as a unicorn today. Pictures later!7 -

Friday weigh-in:
PW: 186.1
CW: 184.5 **
I am a little skeptical of this weigh-in; I drove to my parents' house for the weekend and did not bring my own scale (although I thought about it). They have a nice glass Weight Watchers one, but I weigh daily and yesterday at home I was around 187 (which made sense because last weekend was a 1 Woman Wine Fest at my apartment ), but their scale is definitely old in years by now. So I wonder if it is off. I was expecting more around 186, maybe high 185s? Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, I guess. But next week will be more telling.
Happy weekend all, and Happy Halloween Eve!!! (My absolute favorite holiday!)7 -
Hello Friday!
I'm hoping everyone is doing OK today - in spite of temporary setbacks if you are in the midst of one. Get planning - you know what to do. I really like the idea that every hour is a new start, @Terytha And those upticks in your loss graph? As long as the downward general direction continues, they are not a reason to panic. You've got this! @Pearl4686 you had one of those upticks this week, but you have lost 3 pounds this month even counting that.
I had a big uptick this morning after a big loss yesterday. The difference? Eating grains and less exercise. In one day. I really find grains make a difference - for me, in any case! I get plenty of carbs from vegetables, fruit, and legumes, but when I skip the grains (even whole ones) it is easier to stay where I want to be. See what your kryptonite might be and even if you don't eliminate it completely, try to move away from it a bit. Be your own experiment
OK - lots of stuff to do - have a good one! Here is how I am picturing @Terytha

Happy Friday, Folks!
Here's my step and exercise update for yesterday (29th October)
Steps - 2737
Exercise - 31 mins Upper body strength workout
I was told that my running club missed me (how sweet - especially as I had only been twice!) And my coach has recommended a walking club. I'll get more details next week - exciting!
Hubby Ben is a Halloween baby, so we're going to his sister's tomorrow afternoon for a birthday lunch. And I will be chilling (with a teeny bit of work) on Sunday. The weather is forecast to be chilly and downcast this weekend, so staying cosy is the theme this weekend.
Hope you all have a fab weekend!
See ya!5 -
Aloha from Maui! My name is Sheila and I am 56 yo. I would like to lose around ten very stubborn pounds -- I quit smoking several years ago and became addicted to Nicotine replacement gum. I finally was able to give that up a little over a month ago. Within two weeks I gained 6-7 pounds and they seem like they are not leaving anytime soon My bff is also very sick and probably wont survive much longer. The grief is really taking its toll on my mental health along with covid. I do exercise daily but struggle with night time snacking. Am hoping to give and get some motivation being on a team! Let's go Waist Aways!!6

I am looking forward to "officially" starting on the team as of Sunday. Every Friday since my son was a toddler (now in 5th grade) we have had a "date night", just he and I. Since covid we have ordered in instead of dining out. I have gotten good about either ordering a healthier option, or dividing my meal in half and putting half away for lunch the next day. Today I ordered something unhealthy AND I ate all of it. So I am feeling a little bloated/stuffed even 2 hours after eating. But, I walked enough today that I still feel okay about my overall intake/output today.
I see some people posting about steps also, is that a daily/weekly thing? I walk a ton at work and am definitely up for a step challenge lol5 -
@MandiSaysHey
Good job on walking off the extra intake! Yes, we have a team within the team who tracks steps and/or exercise. Some people only track steps, others combine steps with strength training, biking, Pilates, yoga, or whatever else. We use a "translator" to convert exercise minutes to steps (you can check it out here https://www.arhs-nc.org/live-healthy/data/StepConversionChart.pdf ). That way we are all on the same units. I do use a bit of flexibility on the exertion factor - super sweaty can hardly breathe vs dawdling along on the bike, for example - but it all adds up! My co-captain @micki48 will be calling out for who wants to be on the step/exercise team when we get going onto the November chat thread tomorrow. Walking a ton at work - you'll give us a run for our money!!3 -
@jugar here is an example of my last 30 days. You can clearly tell which days I didnt work lol b
