Sounds like you had a great run yesterday @polskagirl01 ! Enjoy finding new places to run.

@Tramboman The robins are here all year, so that would not be a good harbinger of spring here, even though I used to think it was. You're doing great with your runs.

@katharmonic Such a pretty place to run. I love sun on snow. It's so pretty. Funny, when I took Tippy out this morning there was a huge frost and clear skies. I said, "Oh look. It's all sparkly." Not quite the same, but pretty nonetheless.

@kirstymn Glad you are getting your runs in. Be careful in the heat though.

@TheMrWobbly I hope your knee stops grumbling better soon.

@AlphaHowls Glad you were able to get outside and run! That must have felt like heaven.

I tempted fate and took Tippy back in the field again. It was sunny, 54°F, and windy, so the top of the ground had dried a lot. I didn't have to side step the mud, which was my down fall, literally, yesterday.

@kgirlhart What a difference a week makes! The creek does look like it's thawing some. I wouldn't try ice skating or anything. Glad you had a great run!

Tried again on the virtual race route in the forest. Temperatures went back down to zero overnight, so the melty snow in the forest was now crunchy snow & ice, so I used screw shoes and nordic poles. It helped, but I did find myself having to concentrate more on form with the poles. Even though I missed a turn, stopped to take out my phone and take a picture, then realized my mistake and had to go back, I improved my time by 6 1/2 minutes over 7k - so almost a minute faster per km. I'm happy with it, unless the trails clear up this week ;)
It's supposed to be warm all week. Melt, snow, melt!

Oh no @AlphaHowls ! Sorry about your fall. I hope you are okay today. That feels like mother nature was adding insult to injury after being cooped up for so long.

@ContraryMaryMary Good for you! I really want to do that too. It's one thing I wish I had been able to do as a child, but couldn't. Maybe I should put that on my bucket list for after I heal up.

@polskagirl01 Great increase in pace! Beautiful running route. I hope the snow melts and you have better conditions to "try" again. Even though, slippery mud can be just as bad, I would think.

It rained on me when I was walking the dogs, but it had stopped by the time I got back out for my run. Roads about 99% clear and it was nice to go out in just shorts and a long sleeve t-shirt.

Cloudy, mid 30s F, with a little drizzly rain driven by a gusty southwest wind. Heard a robin and saw a bunch of geese flying around.

When you pop in here claiming your December 2021 mileage, what accomplishments will you have made?

PUT THE FUN BACK IN THE RUN!
Return to a good running weight of 175 lbs (second attempt)

@AlphaHowls so sorry for your mishap on the road. That is the 2nd time in recent memory you have had a spill while running. I'm sure it's just bad luck, but getting worried about you :'(

Nothing exciting this morning, just an easy 6 miles on the treadmill. It's going to be a challenge to get in my 100 miles this month.
