Hi Sheila - Within this reply about the floors, I can't help but be curious to know about your travels or living in both Kuwait and Tunisia. I might have missed it before if you've mentioned this but would you mind if I ask about your travels? I'm sure there are many people here who have interesting stories to tell.... Thanks, Debra
Sure! I studied Arabic in Cairo (Egypt) in 1974 (and in college) and then taught for 2 years at the University of Tunis (Tunisia) through the Peace Corps in 1776-78. In 1882, I was beginning work on my PhD dissertation (on the concept of honor, particularly as invested in women, in the Middle East, and went to teach English, do some research, and write at the University of Kuwait for 18 months. I was lucky to be able to travel as well in other countries of the ME during that relatively blissful time before all the crap started — Algeria, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and, of course, Egypt, Tunisia, and Kuwait. And yes, I was a young, single woman.
@sheilaboneham Wow, Wow, Wow. You are an amazing and Interesting woman! Did I mention creative too?6 -

06/20 …..200.2….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
06/21 …..199.0 ….. Happy tears here. Onederland! Truthfully, I won’t feel confident in Onederland until I am at 197 point anything (because gaining 2 pounds overnight is very easy for me). Grateful, thankful and staying mindful again today. I am not going to drop this ball!
06/22 …..198.8 ….. I am still on cloud 9 today. Thanks everyone for dancing with me yesterday. I kept the eating clean and the movement/activity steady. I rewarded myself with a couple of good classic rock songs to dance to.
06/23 …..197.4 ….. Although not planned, it ended up being a meatless day. I cut the IF short by 2 hours (14/10) and had spaghetti squash for dinner. Some dairy, very light grains. 50% more steps than the last few days and another 2 songs to dance to. I think it was quilting jaine that mentioned popcorn for fiber that she’s used in the past. I bought a box of 100 calorie popcorn and had my first one last night. Yummy and crunchy. I have now hit the short-term goal of 197 point anything which makes me feel firmly planted in Onederland. Dinner will be out tomorrow with my son but I will hang on for dear life to keep the scale in Onderland on the 25th.
06/24 …..197.8 ….. I don’t know how I could eat 1000 calories less than I burned and gain 0.4 lbs but I did. I don’t think I am retaining fluid right now based on yesterday’s meals either. In any case, I ended up eating 3 meals (including breaking my fast and having breakfast) because I was going to the hair dressers for a 3 hour appointment and am always worried about glucose drops when away from home. I kept it just under 1700 calories so I will call yesterday one of my higher calorie days to keep my metabolism in check. Not happy there will be 2 in a row including today when my son & I go on our planned outing. Now I must keep it more reasonable than originally planned, but it will be SO worth it. I want to keep things rolling while I am strong!
06/25 …..198.6 ….. Not too bad after 2 days of higher calorie and carb. Today I will be at home and my diet will be back on track. I consider these past two days to be metabolism re-sets. I plan on trying to get in more water and activity today too although we are expecting thunderstorms all day. I’ll work out in spurts inside. Burn baby burn!
06/26 …..198.6 ….. I’m surprised it didn’t budge downward as yesterday was filled with extra activity and calories stayed below 1350. No TMI is probably the reason. What a difference that makes! I am attending an outdoor wedding this afternoon in heavy rain and thunderstorms. We have a flood warning going on today. This should be interesting! Hopefully the scale won’t be too bad tomorrow.
06/27 …..199.0 ….. The immediate social engagements are over but I am scheduled to be traveling a very long day tomorrow (meals out). So today is a compensation day stuck right between the wedding yesterday and the travel tomorrow. I’ve got to make it count. I will fast 16/8. Drink extra water. Get as much movement in as I can (expecting another 12 hours of rain and thunderstorms). A well-planned day should help keep me in line.
06/28 …..xxxxx …..

I've included the last one as you can see some Duke of Edinburgh award youngsters in the distance and it gives an idea of the scale.

What a beautiful place, and a wonderful place to get to hike around! First thought was how can there be so many different colors of green - so gorgeous!

Day/Weight/Comment
6/21 159.2 Yesterday was rough. guests at our house. Stress for me is still waay too high re: my Dad. determined to get a better handle on things... taking most of this morning off work (hope that I don't lose my job...) since woke up feeling sick with headache & bad allergy issues. Meds have been taking affect & have been working on resolving issues re: my Dad. So stressed that I was shaking. Would help if knew how to handl a couple things.... then would be easire. Oh well... working on it.
6/22 DNW very bad day, again. The stress has been terrible for both my husband & I. We moved him to a different rehab today. I hope we got him out in time so that we don’t have to put him in the hospital, again. One of his wounds is almost to the bone where he has a contracture (his hand). He’s almost out of Medicare days for hospitalization.
6/23 159.2 another rough stressful day.
6/24. 159.2 rough day again. Can tell my Dad isn’t doing well His labs are starting to go down. Coughing more. Works been stressful. Oh well.
6/25 159.6 Oy! Stress level slightly lower today. My Dad is being treated for pneumonia, now. but not contagious. Was notified of that today while at work.
6/26. 159.2 bad food day. Expecting a gain. Visited dad. Noticed in cameras when they wheeled him back to his room in wheelchair from where he had been watching TV in a living area, the mask he had on was over his eyes. Can you imagine what that must have been like for him?! Ghah! There was another problem while I was there, but it was resolved. Nice people, but like the other rehab, the nurses seem overwhelmed & like they don’t have enough time. Too many patients. My sons wife may have baby a few weeks early. Exciting!

5/10: 183.1 - just 2.9 pounds off 186, my heaviest weight ever - (stopped posting on this challenge July 2020 - very glad to be back!)
Round 150: -1.9
Round 151: -2.0
Round 152: -2.6
Round 153: -1.6
Round 154 Goals: 80oz water; row 30 mins, most days; free-weights; eat vegetables/fruit; 1200 to 1500 calories; IF most days; no sugar; temporary elimination of wheat. Use the knowledge I've gained over the last rounds (and years). I know my triggers and I know what works!!
SW End of 153: 174.8
6/21 - 174.6
6/22 - 174.9
6/23 - 174.7 Hanging out around the same weight for 6 days just means I'll see a bigger drop when it happens, right? Right!
6/24 - 173.7 It's nice to see 173.X.
6/25 - 173.2 Hit my goal for this round even though it might fluctuate a little over the next days. I'm so happy to hit 173.2. This was my lowest weight on MFP and this challenge before I gained some of it back, stopped posting and then gained all of it back. Even though I hate to focus on a specific catch-up weight because it feels so defeating at times, I can't help it and it feels so good to be back at this weight. I am extremely motivated at the moment, not only from weight loss but the changes I'm seeing from all my healthy habits. I am now laser-focused on the 160's!!
6/26 - 172.5 - I was hesitant to post this weight because I'm a little late weighing this morning and it will most likely go back up some over the next few days, which will be perfectly normal. I'm not marking 173 off my "Good Riddance" list just yet
6/27 - 172.0 I'm glad I've learned not to get frustrated and give up when the scale stays around the same number days/weeks because a drop is around the corner if you hold on. I guess I can officially mark 173 off my "Good Riddance" list, even if I do jump a bit before the round ends.
6/28
6/29
6/30 - GW: 173.2 New GW: By the end of the round, still be 173.2 or less.

6/27 ***MY BIRTHDAY!!!***---215.8 --I went outside yesterday to get away from the temptations in the house and 4 hours later, my boxwoods had been trimmed, a few straggler weeds had been pulled and my mulch had been turned to refresh it. As always, I didn't mean to stay out there that long but, I just lose all track of time when I go out in the yard because it's so therapeutic. On the other hand, thanks to my LONG outdoor workout, I was pleasantly surprised when I stepped on the scale this morning and saw that I had reached my personal goal that I assumed I would not reach-- 35 pounds down or at 215 pounds (don't care about the .8 lol). Feels good to have reached my goal and celebrate being here another year to see my birthday with all that we've gone through the past year.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

6/21 - 182 - been here for over a week - but I'm patient -LOL
6/22 - 182 - need to go food shopping today. I’m glad at least that it’s supposed to be a bit cooler - now I don’t mind using the stove because otherwise it makes the house too hot. Going to try to get some meals pre cooked and ready to eat for the rest of the week! Also have a doc appointment - my physical and get to see the results of my blood work. Hope you all have a Great Day.
6/23 - 182 - I feel good about my food choices and activity level.
6/24 - 182 - I was so tired yesterday I didn’t do any exercises. Hope to have my energy back today. Hope you all have a lovely day.
6/25 - 182 - I did get my energy back yesterday and did my exercises. My exercises are at least 30 min on the elliptical for cardio, and some hip strengthening and stretch exercises. Also kept to my calorie count. Have a great day.
6/26 - 182 - Hooray it’s the weekend! Hopefully we’ll do something fun/different today. I’m hoping for pool and outdoor walking (as opposed to indoor mall walking.) Enjoy your day!
6/27 - 182 - No access to a scale this morning. But, it’s a pretty sure bet I’m still at the same weight.

Stomach issues continuing, which gives me rare fatigue. But my motivation & spirits are getting much better. I time today to really let myself relax & chill. VERY rare that I do this, but clearly I am at least partially sick & they always say to rest. I guess sometimes that’s the best self-care.
Hi @tiabirdie56 So GREAT to see you, my friend🎉 I hope all is going well for you!
@deepwoodslady Congratulations on the 19x.x’s.
