A friend told me about mesquite pods so I’ve been out picking. Got a shopping bag full. They taste like a sweet cucumber! I read up on them and found they make a great flour to replace wheat flour, coffee, tea, jam and syrup. The indigenous peoples of this area used them all the time. My friend’s dog was eating them last year. I’m gonna try tea and flour with them. Gonna pick more tomorrow. Drying what I picked in the hatch of the car.

Other projects: made towel toppers for a friend that’s moving away from park. Also crochet a troll girl r my critter collection. I also enjoy working with essential oils. Made more big off roll on and my favorite diffuser mix called Surf’s up. I belong to a subscription where you get 4 full size oils and six recipes on how to use them and other items you may need every month. I have fun and the results are calming and relaxing for the whole house! PM me if you want deatails on the subscription.

I took an inventory of all the MS jerseys that we have earned when you raise $1000.00 or over each year. Kirby Schlotterback has 13 jerseys with the oldest one being from 2007. I only have 7 with the oldest being 2009. That makes $20000.00 at least! That’s not counting all the other years that we raised $250.00 (the minimum needed to ride) or other years that we raised in various amounts.

I’ve ridden 555.5 virtual miles so far and will continue until the day we leave for Washington. I am currently in 1st place among the females. I am in 6th place overall. This is out of 77 participants. I am close to getting in 5th place tho. I’m so close!

I'm going to a friend's place Saturday and staying the night. The packing is making me nervous. I need a bathing suit and clothes to drive home Sunday. Plus I still need to make brownies to take and figure out how to pack a chilled bottle of wine. Teddy is staying behind with my parents. Nothing really tricky to worry about, but it's still a stretch of my comfort zone. Plus it's going to be about a three hour drive.

Walked on the stairstepper today. The plan for tomorrow is to do a 10 Minute Solution Carb Burner DVD.

Volunteered at the soup kitchen then made a lime pie that I was depending the guy would bring to the pool party but he’s not coming.

Allie – good luck with your CPAP. I know when Vince got his the doctor told him he should use it as long as it’s comfortable at first, maybe 2 hours. He used it for 7 hours!

At the soup kitchen today I learned that next Thurs they’re going to have a trial with letting people in to eat like we had done before this pandemic. However, they’re only going to allow 30 people in there, there are no seconds, the food will be served in Styrofoam containers. Wonder how it’ll be Friday? I would think they’ll still serve indoors but continue to give people the option of getting a bag lunch like they are doing now.

Rebecca - We have very little cupboard space so we fit things where we can. This may change soon. I’ll update soon.
There is an area in the bottom cupboards that houses treats for the Grands, I think Grampie sneaks into it too occasionally.

Since your son is being stationed in Guam does that affect you and Lee with the house?

Annie - it sounds like a nice break for you, but I understand your anxiety about leaving your parents. Enjoy it anyway, these times are rare.

Since we moved in here I have wanted a new exterior door. There is not enough light in that area of the house, I can’t see from anywhere who might be knocking and the whole jamb, transition and everything is in disrepair.
A couple of months ago I bought a used steel door with a window for 120 on Marketplace, I also bought paint and primer for it. We went today to find a door jamb and threshold to put the door in and they don’t sell them like that anymore. We would have to build our own. When we priced out the cost of the materials it was going to be close to $400. We decided to rethink our plan and had the associate show us different pre-hung doors at different price points. We found one on clearance for $319, it had a full window with a diffused coating for privacy. It was only available in 36” width and our door is 32”.
We called our Son in Law, the carpenter and he will install it for us.
I’m doing this though we need to remove a small cupboard to move the fridge closer to the stove. So we’re going to do that and put a narrow pantry or shelves where the fridge is now. My wanting a door has become a big costly project. 😂

I need to get better so I can do this work, in moving the cupboards I’m also going to have to paint. 😩

Rebecca - what does that do to your housing situation? Will you need to move again?

No, we will stay here. As it is, his rotation date for a new duty station won't happen until January. Son said he should have no problem keeping everything as is, and it will be like we're an expensive storage unit. Hoping that indeed is true. He'll know more as it gets closer to the time though.

Tracy, as it stands, we will stay here. All of sons bills are on autopay. As well as rent. We'll most likely get a power of attorney for son, in case something happens. Command duty station change doesn't happen until Jan, so still a lot of time for things to change, we'll just keep our fingers crossed it all works out.

Annie do you have a small cooler in which you could carry the chilled wine? Or just put it in the fridge when you arrive?
Tracey so glad you have a capable carpenter for a son in law. The way little improvements turn into costly and time consuming projects is what keeps us from changing anything.

Shadow figured out how to squeeze/crush/crimp her ComfyCone to get at her leg and lick the granuloma. For probably the first time in her two year life we had the “who is the mommy and who is the puppy” conversation. Means I yelled NO at her. Rolled all 60 lbs of her onto her back. Grasped her at the base of the throat and shook her. Freaked us both out, but so far she’s left the leg alone. Hoping ComfyCone comes in a longer size she won’t be able to evade. Cannachews don’t seem to be helping.
