Gosh, I suck at losing weight….I am dieting and staying same, which really means THIS is maintenance and I need to REALLY cut more cals to lose weight. I don’t think I have it in me….I am feeling deprived at maintenance!
Just a suggestion: Take a look at your macronutrient balance. Are you avoiding simple carbohydrates? Are you getting enough protein? Try losing just 1/2 pound per week; that's only 250 calories per day less than maintenance. Give yourself a reward once a week, if you've met that week's goal. That can help you tough it out, having that to look forward to.1 -

- November 8: 209.2 (-1.4) Another stressful week. Not sleeping very well and struggling to eat up to my BMR.
- November 15: 207.2 (-2) That's a relief! I expected a gain or at least to stall. Feeling stronger this week. Added in a 3rd weight training session to deal with the stress and trying to get to bed earlier.
- November 22: 206.4 (-.8) Had a lot of social activities last week. Looks like I need to learn to regulate what I'm eating and drinking a bit better!
- November 29: 202.6 (-3.8) Been sick since last Friday. Haven't been able to workout, but also not much of an appetite. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I miss the gym!

Hi, I am in for another cycle. Thanks for starting this again.
STARTING WEIGHT/DATE WITH MFP: about 175 on 8/19/12 (been here a long time, lol, but kinda off & on)
Lost about 25 pounds, then pretty much maintaining, up a little, down a little, but would like to lose another 15 or so.
Ended last challenge at end of Aug. at 151.94# & didn't weigh for the month of Sept. I felt like daily weighing was getting to me, so tried not weighing for a month. Seemed to pretty much maintain, but now I am ready to get to a healthy weight.
Challenge starting weight: 152.07
I weigh every day & average them on Monday, so my numbers are the weekly average.
My goal for this cycle will be 5# (I amended this a bit, as I felt I was being too aggressive)

Nov 18…..…..190.6…..(Trend Weight 189.7)…..Very bad news from Primary Doctor yesterday in regards to my blood work. A1C 11.8 so she will be adding more medication for Type 2 diabetes in conjunction with what I am already taking. Thyroid has gotten worse and my medication will be increased. My sodium is super low and so a medication for that is being added. My LDL cholesterol is bad so she is adding Atorvastatin for help that. What a hot mess! These medications will help, but I know in my heart of hearts that diet and exercise is the healthiest answer to all of this. I’ve got to do better! With all these holidays coming up, it just couldn’t be more challenging! I’m thankful that I’ve made enough improvements in my lifestyle and my weight over the past couple of years to stay in cancer remission as weight was very important to my type of cancer. But I’ve got to roll up my sleeves, there is more work to be done.

What I've learned so far:
- exercise in the evening after eating has less impact than exercise in the morning before eating, regardless of same caloric intake
- Keeping calories as close to goal as possible has more impact than exercise for me
- Saving calories (not eating) until evening makes the evening feel more relaxed
- Busy hands are a good idea, as are habit goals

Disappointed in myself for gaining back a stone recently. Have had a pretty stressful few Months and have let my binge eating take over. Hopefully I can get my eating under control and not gain anymore over the Christmas period. ^_^
