A bit about me!
I was a former analyst (love numbers) and I am now retired. I have a wonderful horse 🐎 Vienna that I enjoy riding/jumpingπŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—. I also enjoy hiking, cooking, travel, golf and being outdoors/active! I am very thankful for this group and looking forward to getting to know our new teammates!


Why I wanted to lose weight?
December 2020, I was looking at photos from Thanksgiving and I wasn’t happy with what I saw. I didn’t like how I looked, however, more importantly I didn’t like how I felt. I knew it was time for change. January started with β€œdry January”, Barre and a healthy diet. I didn’t see initially the pounds flying off like they did in my 20’s, I was frustrated, however, I knew it would take time. The pounds started coming off. I give a lot of credit to MyFitnessPal community of all the support and encouragement!! I knew I wouldn’t qui! With the help of this awesome team, I have lost 20+ pounds!!

    I'm Mairi, aka BodyTalking, and only really started making an effort to improve my health and wellbeing this past summer.

    What I found in this group was a caring community that shared and listened to one another's problems and, most importantly, cheered each other on whenever we achieved our goals however small or big they were.

    I think I can speak for everyone here in saying that we have all struggled, disappeared for a while, felt low, and so on, but despite these down spells, we all return to this great group for support and to give support to others. Our captains and leaders are a super bunch, full of inspiration and personal insights, along with challenges that guide us towards bettering ourselves in both mind and body.

    Whether you jump in at the deep end or just dip your toes in, always remember that if you take a break or find the going gets tough, you can come back and share what's going on in your life and we'll be here for you.

    Hi and thank you for the warm welcome! I am excited to start this journey and know I will have a hard, but valuable road to plow. I am newly 37, married and a mom to a strong-willed 3 year old little boy. I teach Kindergarten and am in graduate school. I'd like to lose 50 pounds, try to learn to like foods (I am so picky, all mental I am pretty sure).

    I'd love to add some friends on here to check in with beyond the boards here if anyone is willing. I am currently visiting my family for Christmas in PA, but figure why wait to start making some small changes and start tracking foods, etc.!

    Hello everyone! I’m happy to be here. I’ve been working on my health since July (this time around) and am down 59 pounds. I lost weight successfully before on MFP but regained most of it. This time around I really need to work on how to maintain once I reach my goal.

    I am a 4th grade teacher and live with my very active dog. I am training for a possible half marathon in the spring so I run three times a week.

    My Warrior path started here at the beginning of 2019! Wow. It is a wonderful group. I have had much success being a part of the group!

    Away on vacation now, but popping in to say I am glad everyone is here.

    I am putting together all my goals for the year right now. Does anyone else do this and follow a certain plan or?

    I am following a worksheet by Dave Ramsey, successful financial entrepreneur, for the first time, and you list your goals for the year and then break them into monthly, weekly and daily ones. It is important that the goals are the person's own goals and not someone else's at all. I plan to review them regularly and put end dates on whatever I have picked, as suggested. The plan will be to review them all about the 1st of each month to see how it is all coming along and if any changes need to be made. The goals are in the areas of physical, financial, personal (I added=misc. for me), intellectual, social, family, career and spiritual.

    Hope this is a wonderful upcoming year for everyone!

    Hello!! :) My name is Elizabeth: @ealbers83 And my weightloss journey began 3 years ago… I lost 77lbs and felt better than I had in years!!!! It truly was life changing. Not just losing weight but becoming confident and a healthier version of myself mentally. Last year was tough (as I’m sure it’s been for many others) and I gained 50 lbs back. I’m ready, though, to make positives steps and get back to where I was.

    Goals: learning to love myself regardless of size and to give myself grace. While also losing weight in a healthy abc maintainable way.

    I teach preschool, am a mom of three, and will begin Graduate school in January so giving myself time and space to focus on my nutrition and fitness is key for me.

    Looking forward to this group, learning new things, and making more time for myself. :-)

    Hi All! Thank you for the warm welcome! I'm 31, a Wife and Mum to a 3 year of little boy. I live in Cambridgeshire, England.

    I'm so glad I found this group! I've used MFP on and off for about 6 years and never really looked further into it other than tracking my calories!

    My 2022 goal is to get back to the weight I was before having my little boy. I did nearly get there in 2020 but the the pandemic hit and I was made to work from home (and still am). I've struggled being on my own all day, and being so close to the kitchen! I'm definitely a snacker!

    So all in all, I have around 35lbs to lose. I'd love to get to summer feeling confident to put my shorts back on!
