Thanks @Megan_smartiepants1970! Hi I'm Laura, 40 (yikes!) and excited to be here. Just before quarantine I gained 15 pounds and though the past two years have barely made a dent in it. I currently weight more than I did the day I gave birth. My current goals are to start getting up early to work out and preplan my daily calories so I'm less likely to make bad choices. Feel free to add me as a friend.

Welcome Laura! Stick to your goals and you will lose your weight.

Hello! My name is Greg and I recently turned 40. I starred my journey Feb.24 2022 weighing 388.6 pounds. I'm 6'5 and people were shocked when I told them how much I weighted. I'm currently down 48 pounds. I swim laps 4-5 days a week and ride my exercise bike on off days. Plus softball season has started. I'm from Windsor Ontario Canada. My goal weight is 250. Feel free to add me as a friend

Hi Greg! Welcome aboard. I live just down the road in London. Congratulations on your weight loss so far. You are very active which will help the weight loss. I love to swim and it’s my go to exercise.

Good evening everyone. Another weekend has slipped into our rear view mirror.
Calories - 1950 or close. Kept my legs elevated to work on swelling so I had more time to snack. Ugh.
@laura9400 welcome to the team and I hope you can get your trek started with our help.
@JaysFan82 welcome to the team and congrats on your 48 lb loss. It's a great start on your journey.
I forgot to mention I actually stepped on the scale the other day for the first time in 2 weeks. With all of my swelling, 3 tubes still in, and extra clothing I was still 229. Only up 7 lbs. I go for another post-op tomorrow afternoon. I wrote my questions down so I will remember to ask them just in case I get light headed again.
    Have a wonderful week everyone.

Good luck with your doctors appointment. I think that is a positive weigh in considering all the factors.

Alright - I did it! No, I'm not excited about gaining 0.2 lbs since last week … I'm finally done with the out of town weekends! After 5 weekends in a row (2 soccer tournaments, 1 college graduation and 2 separate moves (our kids coming back home for the summer), I finally get a weekend at home and will have a much easier time avoiding food and drinks that make losing weight an uphill battle. I'm getting dangerously close to 230 and erasing all the good progress I made earlier so I'm pretty excited about not having the odds stacked against me. I'm looking forward to sharing some good news next week.

Have you set some goals for the summer months?

Exercise: laps, arms and water exercises

No pool today. I slept in today as I was up through the night with a headache. Today I still have a headache and I am all stuffed up. Praying it’s just allergies and not a virus as my trip is in two days. I just took an allergy pill so I have my fingers crossed.

    Question for everyone:

I fit into a size X top now. Yet I still want to put on my 1x and 2x. I swim in the 2x. I am so used to hiding my body. Does anyone else find it hard to switch to a smaller size clothing? Maybe I just need to donate the bigger sizes.

@lindamtuck2018 yes get rid of them or you do gravitate back to them. I also find it hard to switch sizes and I have closet right now that needs weeding through so to speak. My trainer says to definitely get rid of the big clothes and get clothes that fit so there is no back sliding.

I'd suggest donating what you really don't fit anymore or just doesn't align with you style wise. I'm also in the process of switching my seasonal clothing. I have about 15 articles of clothing that are currently 4 sizes smaller than I currently am (currently 14/16 the clothing is mediums and 12's). I want to keep them as I think they will look great when I reach my goal :D . So I packed them away in one of those vacuum bags from Amazon. They're out of the way for a season, and when I do another seasonal clothing change, I'll check them out again and decide to donate if my style has changed.

I feel the same way as you do ... I have been big for so long that I am holding on to the past its kinda like a security blanket
