    1. Set an intention to live with awareness and kindness. I intend to live with more awareness and kindness every day.
    2. Notice three things you find beautiful in the outside world. The blue water of Lea Lake, Snow on the mountains at a distance, walking a nature trail. All at Bottomless Lakes State Park.
    3. Start today by appreciating your body and that you are alive. I am healthy and above ground. I can walk, talk, hear, see, taste, and smell (mostly). I appreciate that I alive and have a healthy body.
    4. Notice how you speak to yourself and choose to use kind words. I will try…
    5. Bring to mind people you care about and send love to them. I sent texts to my long distance friends to send them love.
    6. Have a ‘no plans’ day and notice how that feels. Most days are like that for me. So much less stress!
    7. Take three calm breaths at regular intervals during your day. Sounds like a plan.
    8. Eat mindfully. Appreciate the taste, texture and smell of your food. Started at breakfast.
    9. Take a full breath in and out before you reply to others. I will need to keep this in the front of my mind all day.
    10. Get outside and notice how the weather feels on your face. Every day!
    11. Stay fully present while drinking your cup of tea or coffee. In the process of doing that right now!
    12. Listen deeply to someone and really hear what they are saying. I will have to really try to get this done today.
    13. Pause to watch the sky or clouds for a few minutes today. I love doing this!
    14. Find ways to enjoy any chores or tasks that you do. I made a necessary task to go for a liver scan enjoyable by buying lunch for myself for a change.
    15. Stop. Breathe. Notice. Repeat regularly. I really need to do this today! Didn’t remember to do this.
    16. Get really absorbed with an interesting or creative activity. I have stones to paint. Will be distributing along the trails in exchange for free peddle boat and paddle board rentals. Didn’t do this. Too windy out. I colored instead.
    17. Look around and spot three thing you find unusual or pleasant. Will do. 1. Lady wanting us to cut a lock off of her propane tank. 2. The rock formations around the park. 3. The lake surface when wind blows over it.
    18. If you find yourself rushing, make an effort to slow down. I will consciously try to do this. I completed this!
    19. Appreciate nature around you wherever you are. Easy here. I do it every day! Appreciation list in spoiler

    51. 22. Notice something that is going well, even if today feels difficult. Doing the wash and calling my mother.

    56. 27. Cultivate a feeling of loving-kindness towards others today. I’ve been working on this in my meditations.
    57. 28. Notice when you are tired and take a break as soon as possible. I will try.
    58. 29. Choose a different route today and see what you notice. If I have the chance will do this. Probably with a walk.

Machka- I sure hope today was A LOT better. That is just way too much in one day.

    Rain AGAIN today(with more tomorrow)

Had lots of exercise yesterday-81min walking the wetlands and it was AMAZING, then an hour of zumba last night, finishing out my day at just over 20,000steps/9miles. Then, after all that, I had trouble sleeping. Did fall asleep after my kitten came and snuggled under my chin.
    No exercise today.
Started my day at the dentist again- hoping this is the last time to get the buildup done on the back of the tooth I broke. Rained all day, including while we stood out waiting for the kids to get out of school(and of course they got out late again)
Dh goes to work at midnight tonight(only day of the week he will be working again)then going straight to his mom's when he gets done so I won't get woken up at 7;30 which I am so looking forward to.

Just heard that Destiny will be having her surgery tomorrow to have her leg amputated. She really needs all the prayers she can get.

    Debbie

I am praying Destiny’s surgery goes well and she adjusts quickly. My son’s 38 YO best friend had his leg amputated due to a diabetic issue and he was on a motorcycle a week after!!! That guy was determined. He still gets around as best he can like nothing happened! Strong man!

The dentist adventures I read about crowns, root canals, etc are why I simply have them pulled. One and done! That may not be for everyone, but I have had a partial plate since I was 18 so it is no big deal to just add another tooth to the plate. No more pain, insurance pays 100%, and one and done.

Allie— My mom’s favorite cousin was named Rachel. She wore her hair in a short men’s cut that was called a ducktail back then. Mom took me along with her when she went to visit Rachel & I stayed close to my mom. I was shy. This was in the early 1950’s. Mom & Rachel were good friends. They were grownups. Carmine is young and trying to be her/himself. I suspect it will take time for Carmine to gain self confidence. You are likely a safe-haven for him/her. ❤️

Last week I bought a bunch of mackerel in different flavors, some in a Mediterranean sauce, some in tomato paste, others in a lemony olive oil. I have only had tinned mackerel in olive oil and I just mixed with a bit of mayo and squirt of wasabi over sticky white rice. Do any of you have some suggestions?

Dh eats his mackerel over rice with a little furikake.
I eat sardines on crackers- nothing fancy.

I think the tomato based mackerel I will mix with cold, cooked pasta and olives, then the olive oil based, I will have with my rice, or put in my Vietnamese rice paper rolls with rice and avocado.👍🏻 iI normally drain the oil off anyway. Is furikake the sprinkles in different flavors, seaweed, etc?

Yes- haha- Sprinkles is what my son used to always call it. He had to have sprinkles on his rice.
I use a lot of that, not only on rice(if I eat rice, I too have to have "sprinkles" on it- can't eat plain sticky rice. I also put furikaki on steamed veggies or when I make the tomatoes/cucumbers w/rice vinegar.
