Steve, glad your travails at that crazy-house company are done with. Hope things work out well for you at the new job.
Graduation yesterday was the usual long and winding ceremony. They had a politician alumnus who had plenty of wind in him to go the whole day if they let him, but we finally got out and partied at DD's house in the afternoon. Little GKs actually swam in the very chilly swimming pool and we had a wonderful afternoon and evening. It was still going at 9 when I went home. Pete graduated summa cum laude and is going to Ecuador with a service group in August, for a one-year stint. He does have a souvenir Steelers uniform, but didn't make the cuts.
Dave, the backpacking hike with your grandkids sounds like a lot of fun. If things go well they will want to do more of it. I found if I tried to do too much, too far with my kids they can get turned off to camping/hiking etc. I'd bring M&Ms to keep them fueled--"hiking vitamins" I told them.0 -
Good morning!
Well, after a long hard day yesterday I am free of Parker McCrory. I won't be surprised if I get a phone call or two. We'll see how generous I will be at that time. I am very excited about starting my new job next week. I am going to use this extended weekend to see if I can divest myself of Parker McCrory and start moving forward. This past week really wore me out.
We are supposed to have beautiful weather this weekend. I know we are planting tomatoes this morning, but I don't know what is going on beyond that.
Bill, the kitchen pics look good!
Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Latest hike start in many years, yesterday, since the grandkids had school. Hiked through several thunder showers, splashed across several creeks. Only a 5-mile round trip, with about 1,000 feet of climbing. Beautiful forest hike to campsites by the river. This is the third time the grandkids have backpacked there, so they were excited to see all the things they remembered. I raised our son to love the outdoors and his kids are following on.
Sassy had a great time. She has decided hikes are fun. I think.

Congrats on moving on Steve, hope you enjoy new job!
Looks as Sassy may have enjoyed hike more than Grands,
Children can handle cold water better than us arthritic old folks. Hate to admit it but being out at nine is late for me.
DMIL has made up mind that she is ready for nursing home.0 -
Afternoon gents
Just home from work. Gonna take a quick rest and then hit the garden prep for tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant. Will plant tomorrow.
Congrats to the graduate, Mike. Graduating cum laude is darn impressive, especially for an athlete.
Peace has descended in Kansas. Well done, Steve, and good luck going forward.
From photos on FB, looks like the whole crew had a good time, Dave. Luv me sum dirty pups.
How do you feel about DMIL in nursing home, Sam? I know she is a bit of a pain.
How was the water works doctor, Bill? I'm still waiting on my testosterone testing.

I logged in to yesterdays thread so copyiong mine here. OMG Mike proud proud proud!!!
Nice work Steve.
I think my pee doc isn't as fond of tests and wants to do a biopsy, but it makes sense to me to do an MRI. I know that my CT scan with contrast showed a "normal prostate" and no lymph node involvement. I suspect I have BPH but who amongst us older guys doesn't have some of that.
Hey Lee keep those #@%$ frackers at it until ya get some more water I say.
It seems I don't have covid but probably some sort of flu variant. Nasty headache last nigh had me scrambling for some old oxycodone pills that still seem to work.
Beautiful trail Dave and a happy camper dog.
Have fun plantin Lee!0 -
Good Morning
Congratulations Steve on making it through. I am excited for your new beginnings and glad they are in your rear view mirror. We should be praying for the next victim they hired.
Long winded speakers at Graduations should be illegal. The closer they are to the President of the University the longer they speak.
Kitchen is moving right along. One more day or less by the cabinet guys. Countertop template gets done next Friday. But now there is room to move around here and 3 days of peace. Pee Dr tells me that the MRI indicates a 50/50 chance of cancer so I will have the biopsy in a month. Sounds like a fun procedure. I am frankly tired of medical crap that keeps coming. Relaxing today doing things around here and outside. We now have access again to our laundry closed so we are taking advantage. Tri Tip on the grill tonight. We couldn't get in the fridge most of yesterday so we ordered in some Chinese. It has been a while and it was wonderful.0
