11/26 -DNW- (Trend weight DNW) Our Thanksgiving Dinner was wonderful yesterday. Too much food! Today I travel to the movie theater with my grandson (5 yrs old), daughter, daughter-in-law and other (4 yr old) grandson. I just learned there is a theater about 60 miles from my house each way so off to see Trolls it is! I promised the 5 yr old I would take him to the movies and get popcorn if he would stop pooping his pants. I promised him during the summer and it’s been weeks now that he has stayed clean. A promise is a promise so that older overweight lady with the fake smile plastered on her face in the theater today will be me. I do love the movies and want to teach that love to my grandchildren. I’m just more of a Disney or Pixar fan. I also like Illumination Studios pretty well too. The good thing about Trolls: It is guaranteed to always have good music in it.
11/27 -180.4- (Trend weight 182.4) This is a 0.6 lb gain this round which is not bad considering the FOOD holiday of Thanksgiving thrown into the mix. But this round also completes another 10 round cycle which I keep track of in my spoiler. For the last 10 rounds (100 days) I have lost 17.6 pounds. For that I am thankful and grateful. I have a long way to go, still yet, so I’ll keep pushing forward and fighting tooth and nail. Nice round for everyone. So many inspirations. See you tomorrow in round 243.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

SGW this round: 267ish
GW this round: 266ish11/18: 267--resting today. Slept in super late and decided to keep that going, so I just left to do necessities and got right back into pajama mode. Made chopped chicken breast and broccoli over a baked potato for dinner and it was exactly what i needed.11/27: 267.2. Didn't meet my goal, however it was not as off track as i had feared it would be--typically after Thanksgiving I am still eating leftovers by this point and afraid to step on the scale, then that weight hangs around until after the new year with compounded interest at Christmas, lol. So that's a win, i think 🏆Will get some extra steps in at work today. On to the next round!
11/19: 266.6. I weighed myself three times in a row to see if it was true 😂 I tried on a pair of jeans I bought online last year that were too small. They didn't just zip, they actually fit 🏆
11/20: 266. I'm going to have to get a big, big coffee today if I'm going to get anything done. I did my grocery shopping online last night so i will gave some real food to pick up on the way home tonight. I'm doing my best to eat well before Thanksgiving. However, i am not getting enough sleep, which for some reason makes me hungrier so it's a good thing I'll have a bunch of fruit this evening. Vacation starts tomorrow (why did i not request today off too? 😆). Looking forward to more mushrooming over the break.
11/21: DNW today. I'm thinking it might be a good idea to just weigh at the end of the challenge and keep counting calories through the week. Since i know my weight will fluctuate more over the holiday and probably for a few days afterward, I will hold off and see if i have maintained my weight or if it's changed and go from there.
11/22: DNW today. Cleaning and shopping. Tonight I'm doing some cooming prep, and it's hard to believe but tomorrow I'll just have to roast vegetables and get the meat in the oven, and make dessert. For me to do only an hour or two of cooking on Thanksgiving is like a vacation 😂 I did make some cookie dough last night and had a couple, but I figured them into my calories, then i froze the rest of the dough so there wouldn't be cookies hanging out here today. That's a NSV for me, and I'm kicking myself for not thinking of that sooner 🙃
11/23 🦃🥧 Good wonderful day of cooking. Birria turned out amazing--must do again; maybe smoke it a little before putting it in the oven. DNW
11/24: DNW. A second day of hedonism, but my evil plan has worked and all of the food is gone. Muahahahaha
11/25: DNW. Back on track today. Didn't feel hungry hardly at all really so came in well under the daily calorie goal. Tired today; apparently i really needed sleep because at 8:00 I am done and ready for bed. 💤
11/26: DNW. Got our tree up today 🎄 Was kind of stressed this morning but colored lights and a walk in the sun and cold weather made me feel better. Not particularly hungry today either, which is fine with me Back to work tomorrow.7 -

I am about 12 kg along the way to lose 32 kg. I use multiple tape measurements (cm) around my body because they aren't affected by salt intake. Apparently I've been trying to lose weight since September 2012, the last time I was at goal weight. Let's see if stopping eating sugary food is going to change things.

My sixth day! Nov 27th. I like this challenge. So far so good. I worked outside most of Sunday and went to bed without reporting. Two eggs most mornings, sometimes a protein shake of my own making. My starting weight for round 242 was 202.6 and EW is 200.5. I am pretty ecstatic. Sticking with meat or chicken salad lunches. See you tomorrow night. Working on my before picture!

About Me:This is my fourteenth round and really appreciate having someplace to stay accountable.
Thanks to a medication I'm on for my mental health and an overeating habit, I managed to gain a lot of weight in the last year or so. On July 4, I stepped on the scale for the first time since I started the med (that is known to cause weight gain) and decided enough was enough. I buckled down and started actually recording my food for the first time in over five years and started walking every day. Now I need motivation to keep going. I'm a mom of five and grandma of one 4yo that I babysit during the week when my daughter is working. We live in the Pacific Northwest where we're entering the rainy season which makes walking a lot harder, and it's my main form of exercise right now. I do have access to gym equipment at our HOA clubhouse, but I still have to walk there and back (takes about 9 minutes).

Goals:
* track food every day
* walk for at least one hour and/or 3.5-4 miles every day
* OR go to the gym and do 15 minutes on the bike and 30 minutes on the treadmill
* DAILY exercise is being suspended as I've started working full time and I'm currently sick with an annoying cold... I'll try to do my walks or time at the gym on my days of (once I'm not sick anymore)
Round 242
heaviest: 294 (7/4/23)
SW: 217.2
GW (short term): 200
RGW: 214
11/18 - 216.0 - no exercise - Worked for four hours today. About an hour and a half on the computer and then the rest behind the meat/seafood counter. It was a littler overwhelming, but we closed early because several people called in sick and the only person left that knew what they were doing had been there since like 5am or something. So I worked until 5. Then got home and found my husband had made burgers for dinner in the cast iron pan. The kitchen was a mess. So I spent an hour unloading the dishwasher (my 13yo did help with that without me even asking), then cleaned up from dinner, washed the pans and cleaned the counters and stove. I finally sat down to eat my own meal at 6. And again, I feel stuffed. Like so full, I feel sick. And I had less than last night or the night before. Not sure what's going on with my stomach, but I guess I'll have to cut back portions so I don't feel sick at work (I was eating the food I had taken for my lunch break). Overall, it was a good day.
11/19 - 215.0 - no exercise - Worked a little over six hours today. Wasn't really hungry during it. I had a salad like 45 minutes before I started then worked 4 hours before taking my break. My husband got me me a sandwich from Walmart that said it was about 420 calories. So I added some stuff to it and had it for dinner. It was filling but didn't make me feel sick like the last two days. But once I got home, I started getting the same upset stomach. So still not sure what's causing it, but I'll figure it out (or it'll just go away on its own.
11/20 - 215.2 - no exercise - Had to call in sick to work today. On my third day working behind the counter. I woke up with my throat so sore this morning, I could barely talk. Like literally my voice was gone. And I felt lightheaded and kind of weak. I took a bunch of cold medicine and hoped it would get better by 9:30 even with all the pain relievers I could take, I was still in a lot of pain and felt warm to the touch. So I called in. I felt so bad because they're short-staffed (which is why I was hired), and I'm already calling out and probably will have to tomorrow, too. Then Wed/Thur are my normal days off. I hope I'm feeling better by Friday. This cold is also messing with my weight loss because when I'm sick, I want to eat all the comfort food and I definitely don't want to exercise so even if I wasn't working, I wouldn't be out walkin either. I ate way to much today, but it's not the end of the world.
11/21 - 213.0 - no exercise - Missed work again today. My throat felt a million times better when I got up, but I was still lightheaded and weak. Like I felt find just sitting around, but as soon as I got up and started moving, I'd get dizzy. And moving my arms and legs... felt like I was lifting 20lb weights with each movement, leaving me worn out and sore just like going up the stairs or whatever. I did manage to make some stir fry for dinner. I have no idea why my weight fell so much overnight. I ate A LOT yesterday. I had Kraft mac & cheese with a hot dog on bread for lunch, a nice portion of pork roast with instant potatoes and a bunch of veggies for dinner and way too many veggie straws. I was really craving comfort food with how sick I felt.
11/22 - 214.0 - no exercise - Ate way too much leftover stir fry tonight. Ugh. I also made chocolate chip cookies for the kids and couldn't resist having a couple. And then when I went to make dinner for my grandson, I decided to have a third because I was already way over my calories for the day so one more wasn't going to make much of a difference. Plus tomorrow is Thanksgiving which is my big cheat day of the year. I did most of my prepping already so I can relax in the morning before putting the turkey in around 11:30-12. My eldest son is coming over with his dog (his girlfriend has to work and may or may not come by when she gets off) and my middle daughter came for a visit a couple weeks ago and decided to stay for the holidays. It's the first Thanksgiving she's been home for in a few years. Problem is, I don't know if we have enough chairs for everyone.
11/23 - 213.0 - no exercise - Happy Thanksgiving and ugh... I ate way too much today. I wanted a little of everything with dinner, but it was still too much when I'm used to eating really small portions/meals. I've been sick since dinner and didn't even get to enjoy a slice of apple pie. I guess I have to give myself permission to have that pie after work tomorrow. Then it's back to watching what I eat on Saturday. I was too sick to even hang out with the kids after dinner. All five were home for the first time in years. They all played board games together while I sat uncomfortably with my regrets in my room.
11/24 - 214.6 - no exercise - My weight wasn't up as much as I thought it would be. But it'll probably be up again tomorrow. I had a small lunch, but a much bigger dinner (although not as big as on Thanksgiving). I also had a full slice of pumpkin pie for breakfast and a full slice of apple pie with ice cream for dessert. But tomorrow, I go back to small portions and no desserts. Maybe a thin slice of pumpkin pie with my coffee but then a small lunch.
11/25 - 215.4 - no exercise - Ack, the holidays are going to be way harder than I anticipated. I just want all the yummy, fun food that I shouldn't have. I had a very small dinner tonight, but also had half a slice of cheesecakes. But that's that. I can have a half slice of pumpkin pie with my coffee in the morning but no more other desserts or snacking.
11/26 - 214.0 - no exercise - Closed on my own at my job for the first time. I think I did okay. My hands are now so dry that my phone doesn't recognize my fingerprint to unlock it, lol. I've bought lotion for at home and a small one to keep in my pocket at work. I've cut back on my portions for dinner because I always feel so full after eating and then I have 3 1/2 more hours to work and it's uncomfortable.
11/27 - 214.0 - no exercise - I'm really craving chips lately. I had a feeling once I started working that I would want chips a lot more. I just want to go home after being on my feet all day, sit back, kick up my feet and munch on a big bag of chips and dip. Sigh. I've been good, though. Well I did have cookies last night, but those are gone now. I made my round goal, though, so that's good. But now I need to get below my lowest weight which was 213.0. Not sure that will happen until the Thanksgiving leftovers are gone.5 -
🏈🦃🍁10 more days🍁🦃🏈
I’m 65 years young, working on the last 10 pounds. November brings many birthday celebrations, and of course, Thanksgiving. Food during this month is not as big an issue for me as the empty calories of sipping wine 🍷 with friends. These next few days my goal is to have fewer 🍷 glasses on my daily reports, which will then equal fewer pounds at the end of 10 days! Good luck everyone!

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
