Hey everyone! I’m new here….. again! Looking for some support to finally kick this nasty habit of habitually restarting every six months or so. I just turned the “Dirty Thirty” and the time is now!

IMO, one of the keys to avoiding backsliding is focusing on relatively easy, personalized changes in routine daily habits, both eating and activity. As a hedonistic aging hippie type, I'm not long on motivation or discipline. I needed habits I could continue almost on autopilot to reach then stay at a healthy weight. No way I'm feeling "motivated" for the whole rest of my life!
Fortunately, it's the majority of our days that determine the majority of our results, not that rare day when we eat too much cake or work out for 6 hours.Getting the daily habits right is powerful.
When I first started losing weight (2015), I decided I wasn't going to do anything to lose weight that I wasn't willing to continue long term to stay at a healthy weight, except a sensibly moderate calorie deficit to trigger some weight loss. Now in year 7+ of maintaining a healthy weight, that has worked out pretty well so far. Weight loss was like a fun, productive science fair project for grown-ups, where I tried out new habits, learned from those that weren't ideal, and adopted those that were enjoyable, or at least tolerable/practical.
