hello from a clueless n00b

hi, I'm curious scorpius. I'm 36, new to the forum but not to MFP, as I have been tracking for 2 months now.
I'm not at an overweight BMI. I am, however, in recomposition. I monitor macros and intake as I seek to reduce my body fat percentage and build muscle. Muscle is more important to me than losing lbs.
I'm hoping to soon establish an accountability thread for my workouts and I hope to make some friends here with similar goals to me (or just cool people interested in fitness!)
nice to meet you all!
EDIT#2 my newbie question about how the forums work was answered, so I put it beneath the spoiler tag!

I'm still kind of clueless about how this forum works, and I'm doing my best to read up on it.... if anyone will be so kind as to tolerate my annoying questions, I would appreciate it!
1.) are we allowed to discuss numbers? Can I mention my "stats"?
2.) i'd love to keep a personal accountability thread. is that a thing in this community, or is a personal thread to track workouts / intake / recomp progress considered spam?
3.) if 2.) is a thing, I saw there are groups on this site... would it be possible to put such a thread there?
EDIT TO ADD: yes I am aware that I can track this stuff in MFP (and I do for macros / intake, quite obviously!) BUT tracking workouts on MFP is quite difficult for me, especially strength. I also just don't want to release information in the form that it appears in MFP.
What I really want is to have my own thread where I have to record these things manually for accountability, so I can just put everything in my own words.
thanks for helping such a clueless newbie, and sorry if any of this content is explained on the site and I missed it. I can be remarkably obtuse.

These are the guidelines:

Sharing stats is fine. And an accountability thread for yourself is fine too - there are a few existing threads where anyone can contribute too, if that interests you (for example for posting daily exercise).
There are groups, but many aren't very active. Usually groups of people with similar goals/characteristics/...1 -
Wow, thank you so much Liechi! I really appreciate your assistance!
I promise you that I spent ten minutes trying to find the guidelines on my own, but clearly my search strategy was not very successful!1 -
are you working out with enough weight to be challenging but still allowing you to control the weight/resistance? are you eating enough protein? i eat protein way above the original MFP recommendations, and i've tweaked my settings accordingly. and are you getting enough rest? i find enough rest helps with recovery.
good luck with your recomp - i'm doing it, too, and i'm seeing strength and muscle improvement. it's so exciting.0
