    Hi, Penny. Welcome to MFP!

I’d relax a little. You’re only on day 2. Focus on calories before you start worrying about macros, sodium, etc.

If you try to change this that and the other all at once, you’ll wind up chasing your own tail, getting overwhelmed and possibly quitting.

What I found in the beginning was, simply logging my foods made me very aware of what was going in my mouth, and I started changing things anyway, gradually, trying to make better choices. The more aware I became, the more things fell into place, if that makes sense.

Are you on a medically prescribed low sodium diet? If so, can your physician get you access to a dietician (not a nutritionist. Dieticians are degreed professionals, anyone can call themselves a nutritionist. There’s good ones, but the bar is low, so you have to be cautious, and avoid the nutritionist aka counter clerk at the gym pushing their powders, or the neighbor selling pyramid scheme shakes.)

I actually eat quite a lot of sodium, but I sweat heavily, plus do a lot of hot mat classes, so I actually need the extra sodium.

Don’t stress. You’ll get a feel for this as you go along. You don’t have to have everything AOK Perfect on day 2.

I strongly recommend reading the “sticky” threads at the top of each sub-board. You’ll find a lot of valuable information in those threads. And read the boards frequently. I learned a LOT from the other members here.

    Much success to you!
