Changing paths on my fitness journey...

Hi all, I'm Paul!
I turned 60 in January and looking forward to a new way of looking at health and fitness.
My starting stats: 6' 2" 217lbs
I've been an athlete most of my life and while I have always eaten fairly healthy, I have recently realized that I cannot expect the same results out of an aging body. My weight started creeping up and it seemed that nothing I did, or how much more I exercised would cause me to get my weight back around 195 (which is super healthy for me)…until I started tracking my calories in, calories out and realized that my "I can eat whatever I want because I exercise a lot" mentality isn't going to work anymore…DANG, I LOVE FOOD… and eat too much.
All that to say with a little diligence and discipline, we can all achieve our ideal weight and fitness goals.
I am 6 weeks in, eating much cleaner, am down to 206lbs with 10 to go…This process has me much more in tuned with my body, and a new interest in nutrition beyond the mainstream. I look forward to a continued journey using MFP…
