    Hello, and welcome!

It's hard to give you nuanced advice, knowing nothing specific about you.

Generic advice is going to be the same things all of us hear all the time:

    • Eat simple nutritious food for the majority of your eating. It doesn't need to be fancy organic food, just meat, fish, dairy, veggies, fruits, whole grains - anything you like, can afford, find practical and aren't allergic to
    • Shoot for overall good nutrition from the totality of what you eat - protein, healthy fats, fiber, micronutrients
    • Get some manageable, enjoyable exercise, but don't overdo for current fitness level. Walking is great for most people, as a start, but there are many other options, including lots outside of the gym, if gym is out of reach
    • Get as much good sleep as practical
    • Get enough water/fluids (no need for crazy much)

Since you want to gain weight, you'd want to eat somewhat more calories than you burn daily. If you set up your MFP profile, it will give you a starting estimate of the calories you need. If you don't want to calorie count, maybe just add some food to your routine, a moderate amount more daily. Give it a few weeks to see the average effect. If not gaining weight overall by then, add some more food daily, until you start seeing slow gain in the multi-week weight trend.

You don't have to perfect everything all at once, if that feels overwhelming. Just pick on one thing to work on, and when that starts being routine, pick another positive change. Keep going like that, and you'll succeed . . . plus be a wonderful model for your daughter about how to achieve big goals in small, persistent steps.

    Best wishes!
