I'm good with a .2 reduction this week. I think I've dialed in food logging and have my rotation of meals pretty much set, but my cardio exercise has decreased and been a bit hit and miss, so as I get more busy this time of year, I need to prioritize that and plan time for it. So, that's my goal this week. We'll be in Oregon Nov 6th through 9th, but luckily my daughter is good at getting to her gym, so I'll go with her. I'm really close to my initial goal of 125, and I don't want to get derailed now.

Sarah, I'm looking forward to seeing your post on how you're feeling physically and emotionally. I know you're probably dealing with loss as the holidays approach, and I think about that often. I've been there, and sometimes it helps to tell friends. Movement helps, so I'm glad you're so disciplined with your walking and Bone Builders class.

Lois, I hope your busy schedule with work has slowed down a bit. Are you going to DL for Halloween? We were there once for Halloween years ago, and I remember how much fun that was. Hope your doctor appointments are going as hoped.

Kelly, let us know how it's all going with your family. It's that "sandwich" time of life for you with teenagers and aging folks in your life who are going through so much, as well as yourself and Shawn. Hang in there, and keep carving out at least an hour each day for you. You're so good at getting up early to get a jump on that. BTW, the Blue Jays game was good last night. I hope you got to see it.

My daughter here has a migraine, her hubby is out of town on business, and I have a haircut in a bit, so I may have to drive down after my haircut (short appointment) to help her.

Hope you all have a great day.

    LW: 153.6 - TW: 153.4 - Average weight over 4 days of weighing - 152.83

Hit a bit of a plateau. It happens and not going to worry about it too much. I'm still getting all the things done workout, step and tracking food wise. I need to be a bit better on my water and fiber though. I also found that my meals were a bit lame this week and found that I was getting bored of what I was eating. I need to switch up my variety a bit and see how that goes.

The kids are doing well. Things have settled down a bit for now with the negative news. Knock on wood. Our son turns 18 tomorrow, which is the legal age in Canada. He wanted to do a family dinner and drinks, which is nice. We're taking him to a popular brewhouse place and some of our family members are all coming for appies and drinks. First we have our daughter's hockey game though. Busy night and we're a bit sad we'll miss out on handing out candy at our new house, as apparently the area got around 200 kids last year and this year is supposed to be busier since it's a Friday.

Man I've been exhausted lately. I don't think it's the waking up early or workouts though. Might be the time of year - cooler weather and shorter days. Plus time change this weekend won't help either. So dumb that we still do that in my opinion.

K gotta run to a meeting here at work. I'll read everyone's posts later and chat more later.

Happy Thursday Ladies! Still holding in the 246 area. Work is busy, with software set up and not sales (BOO!). Anyhow, just busy busy days. I'm taking a 1/2 day tomorrow for Cameron's Senior Night football game (way on the other side of town tomorrow). So no trick or treaters for me.

Sheesh - hoping your daughter's migraine is under control. Still admiring your dedication to yourself and your family. It is awesome to be able to jump in and help our kids when they need us.

Kelly, WOW - I can't believe he's already 18 tomorrow. Happy early birthday. Great job keeping your focus and accepting/understanding sometimes we do plateau. In AZ we don't have the time change. I do have to admit I love it - and I LOVE that CA is an hour behind us for our winter trips to Disneyland. LOVE to have that extra hour to sleep in the first day. And it doesn't bother me on the way home as I schedule the next day off and hubby has to do most of the driving. I can't believe how dark it's getting at 5pm now. I left my trainer at 630 and it felt like it was 9pm.

I met with my trainer Tuesday night. Work out felt good. She had to cancel tonight's session so I'll see her again next week. I have blood work tomorrow morning and my new docs office called to reschedule next week's appt AGAIN. This is the 3rd time she's rescheduled since my old doc left. Trying with yet another new doc - in APRIL. UGH. This is insane. The poor nurse. I felt bad for her as she caught my frustration first hand. I did apologize and she stated that I'm not the only patient feeling the frustration, so she understands and wished she didn't have to make the phone calls.

Sorry I didn't make here yesterday. I did weigh, however, and as you can see, I'm still stuck in the 133-134 range. I'm becoming more convinced that something changed a bit following my surgery. I did have a good week for steps (7-day average of 12,032) and kcals burned (7-day average of 1,772). Might take a few more weeks of those averages to get things moving. But of course, I have to try a little harder as we're entering a time of years with more food-related events, including Halloween tomorrow. We get somewhere around 75 kids most years, but we're always prepared for more and so have left-over candy. We have not forgotten the year that a church bus full of kids unloaded on our street! That year we quit counting at 106. Hard to imagine 200, Kelly! And of course, there's Thanksgiving just around the corner, and we're also traveling the first weekend of December and will eat out all weekend. This past week, my class had a birthday party for our oldest member who just turned 96! I took a "Nothing Bundt Cake," which I decorated myself to make it a bit more personal for Miss June. (And I love those, so I did eat a piece.) We asked her, by the way, to share her words of wisdom about how to live to be an active 96, and she responded: "Eat well, exercise every day, and drink Miller Light!" 😆

Thank you Sheesh for acknowledging how hard the first holidays without someone can be. It certainly will be different. This year, we are not going down for the actual holiday, but will be there for a few days before to attend a larger family get together and allow our house/pet sitter to be home with her family on the actual days. Yesterday, I made reservations at a bed and breakfast and purchased tickets for the candlelight tour of the Biltmore Estate so we can add a little fun to the agenda. We've visited the estate before but have never seen it decorated for Christmas. And you are doing grea, my friend. I'm envious of your progress toward your initial goal.

Kelly, I am glad that things have settled down a bit for you, and yea for you for continuing to log food and be active. Staying consistent is so hard to do. And yes, the World Series is quite exciting. I couldn't stay awake long enough to see the end of that 18 inning game because that game did not start here until 8 p.m., but we recorded it so I did see the final inning the next day.

Lois, I was so glad to see your post. Was getting a little worried. I am so sorry that Chris is still missing. I hope the family gets some closure soon. And I hope that your workout with your trainer on Tuesday went well. Sounds like your life is a bit hectic now, so remember to take some time to take care of YOU.

Well, gotta run to the Verizon store to pick up a new hotspot. Our current one is not working with hubby's new phone. Problems continue popping up related to the theft of his cell phone a few weeks ago.

    Take care everyone.

Sarah - hugs out to you! This holiday will be a tough one and I'm so happy you're getting some happy events to attend, which will help keeping you busy. Your heart will still have sadness when you think about them, when that happened to me, I strived to think of a happy event that we shared to make me remember and smile. Makes the missing a wee bit less. That's the only tip I really have to get through the season.

And you are so right about sweets this time of year!! I am guilty of buying several boxes of the Truffelettes de France truffles from Costco. I must have a box for my house and I gift out boxes to friends/family and some of my docs during the holidays (though I don't think I'll take those to the bariatric team. I may have to order them a charcuterie something…though they don't like the processed meats either (or maybe they don't like just for us patients)).

My family in CA is going bonkers over the WS. Yes, they're Dodgers fans….

Don't be alarmed if you don't hear from me much next week either. I have several doc appts and two offsite work meetings (which is time I'm not at my desk processing my work so I tend to go into overdrive).

Hoping everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween - and Sheesh - safe travels next week.

    Happy Halloween everyone!

Sheesh - You're sooo close to that goal weight of yours!! That's super exciting. Enjoy that trip to Oregon. That's so great that you can go to the gym there with your daughter too.

Lois - Oh I wish we didn't have time change here already. I would be quite content if it stayed one way or another. Good luck with your appointments this week!

Sarah - Haha the drink Miller Light comment made me laugh. Isn't it funny how you hear that lots from older people when asked that question - like drink a shot of rye or drink a beer a day. And I've been wondering how your Teddy is doing?

Off to Ella's game shortly, then dinner and drinks with Tyler. Not sure if we're heading to the cabin tomorrow or Sunday for the night. We have some things to clean up there before winter. Sounds like we might get some snow on November 7th weekend. ugh I'm not ready for it.

    Have a good weekend all!

I'm glad to log on and read everyone's posts. I hope you all had a Happy Halloween, and a Happy Birthday for your son, Kelly. Hang in there with the plateau. They happen, and there's nothing we can do but just keep doing what we know works. I think one of the reasons we still do the silly time changes is because nobody can agree on which is best, hah. Everyone in my family is divided on that. I have a theory that morning people like standard time (more light in the morning) and night owls prefer daylight saving time (light later into the evening).

Lois, finding a good doctor is harder than it should be. I think our system is ridiculous and ought to work more easily. And, oh yeah, I have to stay away from the Costco candy and snacks aisle. Not only are they all delicious, they are giant quantities!

Sarah, it's a great idea to book some fun things for yourself and your hubby. That will help bring some cheer to the Holiday Season, and it will create a whole new set of memories. You're still burning up the steps and calorie burn, so just keep at it and your body will respond. Maybe you're at your perfect weight already.

I had may annual check-up yesterday morning, and then we dressed up (I was a cat) and drove to my daughter's house, after being sure to put out candy in a basket at home. But, no candy was taken. It's a gated community and there aren't many kids here. The kids who are here, tend to go to other events or other neighborhoods. But, where my daughter lives there are HUNDREDS of kids. It was fun with so many littles walking around the neighborhood! I went with them while hubby stayed to hand out treats at their house. Then, my granddaughters had a fun evening playing with their cat (me), feeding the cat, putting the cat into her bed, petting the cat, brushing the cat's hair. Hilarious! I was catching some of the ball game when I wasn't meowing and purring. That dead ball call was so weird. This World Series has had it all.
