Greetings from Florida!
Trip and vacation are going well!
We arrived on Sunday night and have spent pretty much all day at the pool on Monday and Tuesday and are both already pretty tan, despite wearing 50 SPF head to toe LOL.
Been eating breakfast and lunch from the Airbnb which helps save money and calories. Dinners are out and we "wing it". So far so good!
@katenkognito hope your week is going well! Ohh I love new books! Right now I am reading The Intruder by Freida McFadden and it is fun!

The series I started is The Villain's Apprentice. It is an anachronistic, unhinged, fantasy/romance series with a sarcastic frog sidekick. I just started the third book, but the fourth doesn't come out until next August. I am very sad. And I am going to already have it pre-ordered.
I am slowly grinding through my pile of things to do. I am hoping to have my desk all cleared off by the end of the day tomorrow.

We have a new person that started today, the are going to be doing my previous position, so I will be training them for the next few weeks. :)

Thank you @KateNkognito! We got back from Florida yesterday afternoon. We had a GREAT trip!
We had nice weather pretty much every single day. Only exception was Thursday when it was a little cloudy, but it still didn't rain. We spent most of the day during the day at the pool. It was sunny and 80's during the day and at night it would go down to the mid 70's at most. No sweater needed. LOL
On Thursday we went out and did some shopping. I love hitting all the TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Burlington, and Ross stores! The Ross was a little disappointing, so we only went to one. I am a collector of Middle Eastern perfumes - a brand that is most well known is Lattafa. They do a lot of dupes of high end perfumes and it has been a fun hobby. I love perfume! 😍
Nice, hope you are enjoying your new book series! I finished my Freida McFadden book on vacation and started a new one by Julie Clark. She is another fun mystery writer!
Some how we lucked out by not having any flight cancellations or delays, due to the government shut down in the US. Phew. And both the flight down and the flight back were completely full. Maybe because of other people changing flights. The airports were very busy too. Who knew that a random week in November would have so much volume.

Hard to believe that Thanksgiving is a little over two weeks away! My office is closed both Thursday and Friday which is nice.
We did not get to the gym at all while we were away, but we got in a decent amount of steps. We also did pretty well with eating a healthy breakfast and lunch every day. Dinners were whatever / wherever but that is vacation for you. 😊
Today I have been busy digging out my 400 plus emails in my inbox. Sigh… Almost there.

Traffic was kinder today. I left my normal time but arrived ten to fifteen minutes early. Woo hoo! I am just hoping that ALL the cars don't randomly show up tonight at rush hour. LOL
Work is okay. Busy but not crazy. Mostly catching up from being away. 25 unread emails in my inbox at the moment which is not bad.
Almost time for lunch here. The morning has flown by which is nice.

Well today started off with a bang, literally! I caught a giant rock with my windshield. There goes $1,000… sigh.
Yesterday was pretty good, though. I had a hot date with my husband to Home Depot and then a couple of building contractors to look at replacement windows and siding and then a couple of mattress stores to look at new mattresses. We are a wild couple like that! (tell me you are over 40 without telling me you are over 40 LOL)
@Meghan509 I am glad you had such a nice trip! How is your mom doing? Sounds like a lot of fun in the sun and shopping! Good luck with your inbox and traffic!
Must run to do all the things. New person seems like they are going to fit in well, but today will be their first day training with me and I have a few things to get done first.

Thank you for asking, my Mom is doing okay. We visited her a few times last week when we were there. She's still in the rehab but she's been doing PT every day and getting stronger so that when she gets out she'll be able to walk to and from her apartment downstairs to get her meals. She was in good spirits even though she was bummed that we couldn't take her out for dinner. LOL One night she asked for Wendy's take out for dinner and I complied. Felt bad for her. She loved the Frosty though! She said she hopes to get out in a few weeks. I think maybe sooner but ultimately she needs to feel strong enough.
We also were able to go over to her apartment and tidied up a little and prepped her bed so that when she gets back she should be ready to go. I am grateful for my BF. He was right there with me helping out and he was able to install new gliders on the walker that she'll need to use when she is back. :)
I was planning to take the Wednesday before Thanksgiving off but I might not since I can work remotely that day and I feel like I was just off (I was). So we shall see. We are closed both Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holidays.

Today has been busy but good. Getting stuff done. Going to have lunch shortly and then I have a 1pm in person meeting that I have to attend. Zzzz. All good.
Not too too much else happening here. This morning on my way in to work I figured I would try and outsmart the Google Maps and turn down this little side street that I like to take to skip a few lights. Well, wouldn't you know the garbage truck had the same plan as me! It was taking up the ENTIRE road so I couldn't go around. I ended up turning around. Sigh… So frustrating but thankfully it didn't cost me any time in the end. Rest of the way was good and arrived on time thankfully.

I just got back from the repair shop. Thankfully, they were able to repair the windshield instead of having to replace. Big price difference there! I am so glad I work somewhere that I have the flexibility to go and do that kind of stuff.
New person is doing well. It is a LOT of information to take in at first. I kind of got thrown in the deep end when I started, so I am trying to give them as much help as I can so they don't get overwhelmed.
SO glad it is Friday Eve! I am looking forward to the weekend and then one more week before Thanksgiving. I am going to have/take Wednesday through Friday that week off. If anyone thinks that they are getting their paperwork approved those days, they have another thing coming. LOL

@KateNkognito Oh good, glad you got the windshield repaired! UGH, it stinks how expensive everything is when things break! I remember years back I had a car with run flat tires. Stupid things were $350 per tire if you had to purchase a new one! This was quite a few years ago so I can only imagine what they cost now! 😐️
I am down 2.2 lbs since I last weighed in two weeks ago. Not bad for not exercising and eating extra yummies while we were on vacation. BF had a good week too and I am happy for him because he had been the same weight two weeks in a row before that.
Work has been really, really busy but I am hoping it quiets down a little now that our leadership team will all be out and traveling overseas next week and not in our hair. LOL. Sigh…
Hoping to catch up on a few things today and have an easier day. I am remote today. Need to put all the summer clothing back downstairs this weekend that we are back from FL. Planning to do a run to BJ's and Aldi over the weekend too. I like to buy our organic milk at Aldi - it is much cheaper than buying it at our regular grocery store!

Why does Monday have to be SO MONDAY?! I forgot my lunch bag at home with my caffeinated beverages and stay-sane supplements. We'll see how it goes today. 🤪🤣
The weekend was good. I got things done and took a nap. We have a Thanksgiving luncheon today. I made bread yesterday for it. It should be fun.

Glad you had a nice weekend. Same here. We got all the clothing put away and cleared out of our poor dining room. It is back to being a dining room again. LOL
Got some shopping done over the weekend and some meal prep. Planning to cook a chili tonight for more meal prep for the week and beyond! Cool and fall like here. Chili weather!
Have to take a quick trip this morning up the line to drop something off to be framed at a frame shop. We are giving something to a colleague who is leaving. Going to head out now before it gets busy. Traffic is looking clear. Phew.

Good morning! The sun is shining and it is a beautiful day!
My lovely husband ended up bringing me my lunch bag so I got to take my supplements and have my beverages. But not before I had had two full sugar sodas. I swear, I could smell color all morning. And then I felt so gross after. I am definitely not a fully loaded soda drinker anymore.
This week is a good week and I should be fully caught up before Thanksgiving so I can start a new project in December.

Yep, I hear you about sugar sodas. Sugar and me are not too friendly any more. LOL I find that if I have a dessert or something sweet too close to bed time I either can't fall asleep or I sleep like garbage. Feel like my Mom and how they eat dinner at 4:30pm at her facility. Maybe if I have dessert at 5:00pm it won't affect my sleep!!
Traffic was kind today. Also nice that the wind finally died down a bit. We were at 20 MPH most of the day yesterday. UGH…
I submitted my vacation time through the end of the year and I decided to go ahead and take off the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. That means I will have Wednesday - Friday off next week. Any fun plans for Thanksgiving?! We are going to stop by and visit my BF's parents and then we were invited to close friends who live near his parents. We were there last year and in some years past.
I will also have TWO WEEKS off at Christmas, the way the days fall this year. So weird. I will have 12/22 through 1/1 off and then I will be remote on 1/2. Ease back in it. :)
Not too much else going on here. Had a flurry of emails this morning that I had to tend to but I seem to finally be catching up. Phew.

We are going to go to my BIL's for Thanksgiving. It is only about 10 minutes away and we will have a lot of family there. And also mashed potatoes, so it will be good!

I had a heck of a commute today. The highway was closed northbound, at least ten miles away. Even though I drive southbound, I feel the ripple affect of everybody having no where to go and too many cars in too many places. I managed to take back roads and made it in on time but sheesh. It wasn't pretty! LOL
I am about to run and go meet a visitor who is here to meet with one of my VP's. And he just arrived. So I will sign off.

Happy Friday Eve!! We only work 3 of the next 10 days! (today doesn't count, I have put on real pants, today is dead to me) I am really looking forward to some time off and some good food and seeing all the family folk and taking a nap. But, first, I have to clear my desk, so I better get to work!

LOL at your pants comment! I am wearing jeans today since it is technically my Friday in the office day! Next week we have a luncheon on Tuesday, the only day I will be in the office physically and I am thinking I should not wear jeans but I will make sure they are comfy!
I am finally feeling like I am getting stuff done. Slowly but surely.
I am looking forward to Thanksgiving as well. Need to figure out what we need to bring!

@Meghan509 I have a pair of stealth yoga pants that I save for times when I need fancy pants, but also I want to be comfortable. I kind of would like to wear them every day, but I think people would be suspicious. Have a great weekend and enjoy your time off. I am not sure how much I will be checking in next week.

Friday is here! I weighed in today and I am the same as last week.
Too funny @KateNkognito because it is a little dark and cloudy here too! No rain though. Yep, I don't mind it either. Sort of a cozy fall day!
Oooh I like the idea of the stealth yoga pants! Too funny!
I am going to pull out all of my tall boots and Uggs this weekend so I have some other options to wear with pants. Tall boots kind of dress up any pant! I have some skinny style pants that work well with tall boots too.
Yes, I agree that it will be a quieter week for me as far as checking in. When I am not in front of a regular computer I tend to forget to log on and post. :)

Well, here we are at Monday. I am really not feeling it today, but only today and tomorrow and then five whole days off!
Not a lot to report from the weekend. I got to pet a basset hound for an hour yesterday, so that was pretty great. 😊

Just after noon ET here! A day and a half left of work and then paid time off! Woo hoo!
Monday is definitely here! Luckily I am remote and wearing comfy clothes!
Sat through a boring call for an hour earlier this AM and now I am catching up. I don't know how people can sit on calls all day long. Bah!
I have another call after lunch, so I am staying put during lunch. Planning to head to the gym after work.
We have a farewell luncheon tomorrow which should be nice.
We had a new Target open up by us a few months ago and we went and checked it out yesterday. So nice to have one close by. I like it better than Walmart!
@KateNkognito I love basset hounds! What a cute breed. Glad you had a good weekend.

We had a really nice Thanksgiving. My BIL's wife and I cooked and the boys cleaned after. My husband's birthday was Saturday. He went to a college football game with our youngest. I got to go out to eat a couple of times and just catch up on life. It was really nice.
