I am working full time for myself with 3 adult children (all living on their own), 1 dog Farley big Bernese Mountain Dog/Saint Bernard/Irish setter mix, 2 cats Shadow(the queen of the house) and Hunter(the big purr) I have tried all diets and programs out there over the years, but nothing has worked for long. Now I am working on loving life and trying to be healthier. This fall I finally admitted that I am addicted to sugar.

11/27 - 189.2/💧🚶➡️nice to see a bit of a drop over night, especially after eating 3/4 of a bag of Doritos… Going to the doctors today, I made the appointment so that I get the script to have another shot in my SI Joint. I am determined that this round I am going to focus more on improving the quality of the food I eat.
11/28 - 188.8/🥕💧yesterday was a mixed day, some really good and some so so. I didn’t make my active minutes or my step goal but I did track my food and get my water. My doctors visit yesterday went really well. I am down 22lbs since September, doctor is really happy. he also gave me a req for the shot in my SI joint and is going to refer me to a new program from AB Health for people losing weight, it will set me up with a trainer to help me design a program for me to build muscle and maintain balance.

11/28: 150.1. This wasn't the best Thanksgiving. Long story short, it was extremely difficult and stressful to reign in the little terrors (my sons) at my MIL's sister's dinner. I didn't eat much, as I was too busy trying (and mostly failing) to keep them under control.
Husband and MIL helped a lot, but it was very stressful and honestly, it was another disappointment that we just can't do a lot of activities that 'normal' families do. The boys just can't handle it. When we got home, they were overtired and completely obnoxious. All this to say, the weight gain today was not from Thanksgiving, it was from the Coldstone ice cream I stressed-ate once they finally went to sleep (bedtime struggles is a whole different story I won't bore you with).

11/27- 182.0 ❌ (Trend Weight – 180.1) WTH? Nearly 5 lbs gained in 48 hours? And I haven’t even had my two Thanksgiving dinners or the birthday party yet! One day was after a travel day, but yesterday wasn’t that off. I did get extra hungry last night and added a “diet” sandwich to my otherwise perfect day along with a little icecream. Sandwich was zero net carb bread with 2 oz of deli fresh rotisserie chicken and ¼ smashed avocado in lieu of cheese or mayo. The ice cream was two small scoops. I got in 30 minutes on the exercise bike and slept pretty good last night. For dinner I had the last of my red beans and rice. Last time I made it I gained weight too. But this time I added more veggies so each cup contains less rice. I also lowered the measured amount I ate into a smaller portion. I thought it would help. Maybe not. No TMI today though. I do see on my food log that my sodium was very high in all my choices yesterday and also the day before when I was in the city, But a 5 lb gain in two days is just crazy! Ok, rant over. Time to get to work starting with lots of water today! I’ve already been out shoveling snow today. Areas near me are going to get up to 25” of snow by tomorrow night. We are expected to get under a foot in my area. Travel advisories. Good luck to everyone this round. ‘Tis the season to be Jolly.
🦃🦃🦃🦃 11/28- 179.0 ✅ (Trend Weight: 180.0) My son & I ended up staying home yesterday and having a quiet day. The weather was too severe going north, south, east and west. White-out driving conditions and very slippery with accidents and cars off the road everywhere. It was just too risky for me with my bad eye conditions. So I managed to narrowly escape that extra Thanksgiving dinner. Our family feast at my house is this Saturday. I weighed in at 179 today which is where the dust settled from the travel and sodium bloat the other day. At least I’m back in the 170’s but it puts me very close to the 180 border which is uncomfortable. I took my water pill yesterday since I was snowed in and I had a very low calorie and carb day. My T2D doesn’t always allow me to do that but it was okay yesterday and helped. No TMI today x2 so that did NOT help. I used the exercise bike and I also shoveled snow so there was some extra movement. Today I bake for tomorrow and prepare the house too.

11/27: 170.6 🦃 I was on my feet cooking all day yesterday, but only had around 2.8K steps. The nice thing is, everything is cooked and ready to go this morning.
11/28: 172.6 📈The day after. I guess the silver lining is, I didn’t really over-do it. 😆We hosted, so the feast was completely GF…except for some rolls that everyone else ate. No wine with dinner yesterday. I was staying dry in solidarity with my AA friend sitting next to me. I didn’t miss it. But we went out with friends to a bar after the lighting ceremony and had a late-night drink, which I’ve found always makes me weigh heavier the next day. Anyway, today we’re getting back to normal…with leftovers on the side. LOL

🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 316 (my 246th).
Goals for every round;
- First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
- to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
- be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
- to have a totally 10-day binge free round.
- Would like to lose a pound round.
I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.
Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 135. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.
Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available. This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 67 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.

Should have been a loss… I was well within CI/CO goals. Missed my UPF goal with candy.Yesterday I removed a truck-bed-full of leaves from my yard. The wind was blowing so hard that it consolidated them into piles without raking. Have you seen the glass booth where a person is inside while cash is blowing around like a blizzard as he tries to catch as much as possible? That is what I looked like, I am sure.
I am grateful!!! Today we have our two kiddos and their families over for Thanksgiving. Mom too. We will all go over to the nursing home with pies to have dessert with dad. I am smoking a turkey again. A lot of work, but memories are created around the table.
It will be a miracle if I drop weight tomorrow morning.

Just a quick note about the scale reading here. I thought about skipping this post. I am coming off a two-day food bender. Let’s just say it is not all “me.” Yes I am ashamed to write it, but I think I am weighing everything I ate and water I retained the past two days (it’s still in there.) So let’s move on. Nothing to see here people.On a positive note, we had a fantastic time with family. We managed to respect each other’s differences (let go and let God) and lean into what we have in common (love for each other). We did what we do best, that is, shared meals together and played games. Out of town DD and her boyfriend (partner) bonded with the in-town grandkids in a big way. This warms my heart because she is not on track to have any of her own (let go and let God again, who am I to say?)
All of it led to an unexamined two days with no thought or regard for my aforementioned goals. It will take some effort to drop below my starting weight.

@Zaxa2021 I am so sorry that you had hard time with your boys. I remember well how hard it can and the feeling of wishing we could be a normal family. Even after many years and now my youngest being an adult it is still hard. I did learn along the way to accept that our family was different and we didn't do large gatherings, unless they were at our house so my daughter could go to her room and chill. I'm glad that your hubby and MIL were able to help some.

Kira from Alberta Canada, 54 years old, married to my best friend Jamie. I am working full time for myself with 3 adult children (all living on their own), 1 dog Farley big Bernese Mountain Dog/Saint Bernard/Irish setter mix, 2 cats Shadow(the queen of the house) and Hunter(the big purr) I have tried all diets and programs out there over the years, but nothing has worked for long. Now I am working on loving life and trying to be healthier. This fall I finally admitted that I am addicted to sugar.

11/27 - 189.2/💧🚶➡️nice to see a bit of a drop over night, especially after eating 3/4 of a bag of Doritos… Going to the doctors today, I made the appointment so that I get the script to have another shot in my SI Joint. I am determined that this round I am going to focus more on improving the quality of the food I eat.
11/28 - 188.8/🥕💧yesterday was a mixed day, some really good and some so so. I didn’t make my active minutes or my step goal but I did track my food and get my water. My doctors visit yesterday went really well. I am down 22lbs since September, doctor is really happy. he also gave me a req for the shot in my SI joint and is going to refer me to a new program from AB Health for people losing weight, it will set me up with a trainer to help me design a program for me to build muscle and maintain balance.
11/29- 188.0🥕💧wokeup way too early this morning, I hate insomnia. 2:30 am is simply too early, Ialso remember a time when that was considered bedtime….

11/27- 182.0 ❌ (Trend Weight – 180.1)
11/28- 179.0 ✅ (Trend Weight: 180.0) My son & I ended up staying home yesterday and having a quiet day. The weather was too severe going north, south, east and west. White-out driving conditions and very slippery with accidents and cars off the road everywhere. It was just too risky for me with my bad eye conditions. So I managed to narrowly escape that extra Thanksgiving dinner. Our family feast at my house is this Saturday. I weighed in at 179 today which is where the dust settled from the travel and sodium bloat the other day. At least I’m back in the 170’s but it puts me very close to the 180 border which is uncomfortable. I took my water pill yesterday since I was snowed in and I had a very low calorie and carb day. My T2D doesn’t always allow me to do that but it was okay yesterday and helped. No TMI today x2 so that did NOT help. I used the exercise bike and I also shoveled snow so there was some extra movement. Today I bake for tomorrow and prepare the house too.
🦃🦃🦃🦃 11/29- 178.0 ✅ (Trend Weight: 179.8) It’s Thanksgiving dinner at my house today for all the kids and grandkids. I’m looking forward to us all being together. November has been much better for me than Sept and Oct when I plateaued (or fizzled out). I had a good summer though.
