Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving @KateNkognito!
We did too! Wednesday was very relaxing. Went out for a quick trip to the gym and a brief errand, otherwise quiet. Thursday was a lot of fun! We went to our friend's house and had a great time! There may have been a little too much wine!? LOL While we were there, we made plans for after Christmas to stay at a hotel up the line from us and have a fun adult night out at a casino. Looking forward to that already! Friday was relaxing. Saturday we visited with my BF's parents. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on Sunday! We went out to dinner on Saturday night and visited with them. Good times. Sunday was grocery shopping and laundry and all that fun stuff. LOL
Back in the work saddle today. Busy but good. Remote today and rest of the week in the office. On Friday we have our holiday luncheon so we will head to a local restaurant midday and then we get to go home after!

I totally missed that it was a new month yesterday! Thanks for starting a new thread @Meghan509! Glad you had a nice time off! That sounds like a good plan for Christmas. We are just going to do about the same as we did for Thanksgiving, but with more people. I have to get the house decorated this evening. It was supposed to get done last night, but I was tired.
Yesterday was a bit of side quest chaos, so I didn't get anything done. Today I have a HUGE number in my queue, so I better get hopping on that. Have a great day!

Today I have lunch with our CEO. He hosts groups of us and it is kind of nice. A small group, listening to him tell us about what's going on in the company. Always interesting.

Yesterday we had a whole lot of rain and a lot of people stayed home as a result since north of here got snow. My colleague and I left right at 5:00pm last night and it only took me around 20 minutes to get home! Typical commute for me is 30 minutes minimum. Woo hoo! Win for me. LOL
Today is sunny but cool. All good. Fall is coming to a close and winter will be here.
My lunch with the CEO yesterday went well. He is a good guy. I appreciate how he likes to try and get to know everybody.
We have a FULL HOUSE of visitors from other sites today. It is nice to see people. But like we are totally out of conference rooms and empty offices! Haven't seen the office this full in a while. Kind of reminds me of before Covid!

My queue is still full. I swear I have been working ALL day and processed/returned a ton and my number has barely budged. I think everyone suddenly realized that they were gone for a week and they are going to be gone for another week soon, so they are trying to get it all in before the end of the year! Just keep swimming, I suppose.
Today is the eldest's birthday. I am picking up a cake on the way home and we are going out for the fancy pizza for dinner. It will be a good time.
I tried to send this earlier, but I didn't get to it. We put up the tree last night and I am still finding glitter bits. Glitter is evil! LOL

Things are good here. Today we wrapped up and handed out our holiday gifts at the office! That is always fun because we go around and deliver and it puts a smile on everybody's face when they get a gift! This year it was a winter set of a hat, scarf, and gloves. The hat has our company logo embroidered on it. Very cute!
I do have a few things to tackle, but dare I say it, I am kind of feeling caught up! For now anyway. LOL
Tomorrow we have our company holiday luncheon and it is at a local restaurant. I decided I am going to stay home in the AM and go right to the restaurant for lunch. Helps me sleep in and dodge a Friday morning commute! I like it! After lunch we are able to go home and have the rest of the day off. Grateful.

I have been deceptively productive today. I didn't think I had gotten that much done, but then I look at my to do list and my queue, and they are almost done! Weird. But, hey! I'll take it!

Yesterday was good! Had a pretty chill afternoon. Caught up for now. Or as we say "in a holding pattern" until some Fed Ex boxes arrive next week. Need to ship some stuff out.
Home this morning. All dressed and ready for the luncheon! LOL Planning to leave here around 11:15am, so I have plenty of time to find parking and hopefully arrive a little early to help out my colleague who's planning it.

After lunch I am going to stop off at my local library to pick up some new books that are ready for me. Will be a relaxing weekend. The usual, gym, grocery shopping, laundry, and trying to stay warm!

Monday is here again, boooo… But the good news is only a few more weeks and then 2025 is a wrap. The holidays are coming!
Weekend was nice here. Very low key and relaxing. It has been very cold here. Colder than normal, so nice weather for us to stay the heck home! LOL Sitting at a balmy 26 degrees F here at the moment. Party sunny. 😰
We still haven't put the holiday lights up outside. It is just too cold. We have one of those cute projectors, that projects snowflakes on to the house. :) Very cute. My poor BF has been struggling with the cold since he's lost weight. Less body fat means harder to stay warm! Especially when temps are like this.
Earlier I had a protein waffle with some almond butter for breakfast. Makes a nice quick and easy meal. Yesterday I made a batch of spaghetti sauce. I divide it up and put some in the freezer so it keeps nice. Also going to be making a soup later tonight for one of our dinners.
That is pretty much it. Quieter day for me. Working from home.

Today is Monday. And I have had to resist the urge to tell someone "because I said so!" But today is the office Christmas party, so that will be nice. 😊 Lots of different types of potatoes.
Our weekend was super low-key. I tend to hibernate during the dark months. I am re-reading the first three books of a series. The next one doesn't come out until next August. Very sad. LOL
I am eating WAY more calories than I should, but I am ok with it. I am maintaining-ish. I will work on losing when there is more daylight and I am ready to leave my cave.
We put up the tree right after Thanksgiving and were going to put up other decor this weekend, but it didn't happen. Might get it done this week… or maybe not. We'll see.

I am on a roll today!!! Getting all sorts of things done. Just finished a 20 hour fast. Queue is empty. Piles on my desk are going to start disappearing. It is a good day! The weather is warm and sunny for the next couple of days. I might escape for a wee bit this afternoon and go for a walk around the block (about .5 mile).
My husband volunteered our house for Christmas Eve dinner. We are going to order BBQ from a local place, so no cooking, but I DO have to clean and decorate. It will be fun having everyone over. 😊

Busy but good here. Had to crank out a few things this AM but now feeling a little more caught up. Sigh… Traffic was very decent today!? Made it in a little early even!? Tomorrow AM I am heading to the Honda dealer on my way in, so they can give me my free oil change. We got the car at the end of December and she's only got 6500 miles! Crazy. Loving my CR-V Hybrid. 😍

Woke up earlier this AM and got out the door a little earlier, so I could make it down to the Honda dealer to get my free oil change and then get to work by 9:00am. Made great time, traffic was moving, arrived at Honda at around 8:40am. Checked in and then sat for 30 minutes waiting for a ride to work. Sigh… The dealer is right around the corner from my office but the guy who drives the shuttle was MIA. UGH. Finally got to work, a little late, but all good. Got in, sat down, started drinking my water, started eating my oatmeal, chatted with colleagues and then a text - car is ready! LOL
I told them to come and get me at 11:30am. All good. Oil change is done and they threw in a free car wash.

As productive as yesterday was, today is the opposite. All "quick, little" things that take an hour+. Fun times.
Glad you got your car taken care of… even if it did take them a while. A free car wash sounds pretty nice. Maybe I will swing by the car wash on the way home…
I have really come to dislike Wednesdays. Everything always seems to happen on Wednesday. Tomorrow is Thursday, and that is my favorite day, so hopefully it all gets straightened out by then.

Ahh! Sweet Thursday! So far, so good! I am on track to get a lot of things finally finished up and off my desk. Hopefully my to do list is done by the end of the day on Friday.
I washed my car last night, ran by the store on the way home, aired up my tires, and both of the boys' (because winter), then we let the chicken girls out to roam for a wee bit before it got dark, then we had a pizza party to celebrate finals being over. It was a pretty darn good evening. 😊

Glad you got the car washed. We actually have a car wash membership, that is a monthly charge for unlimited washes at a place right around the corner from us. It's like $25 a month but they have a brand new redone facility and they do a really nice job. I should or could go daily but I tend to go once or twice a week which is nice. The car always looks pretty good.
We have a big call at 11am ET that I run via MS Teams. My boss is still updating the PPT presentation so I am stressing a little, not going to lie. LOL
I have a hair appointment after work tonight. Full highlights and a hair cut. :)

Had my hair appointment last night and my hairdresser told me she was going to retire, effective end of the month, this month. :( So I had my last appointment with her. Feels bittersweet. I started going to her in 1998! That is 27 years I have known her! She used to do so many of us at my old job. There were around five of us going to her at one time. I saw her through so many ups and downs in life. For me and her. I got married. I got divorced. I got laid off and got another job. I lost my Dad. :( She lost a son to a car accident. She had breast cancer. She got remarried. She left the salon she was with forever and went out on her own. She moved around our area and finally settled back in the same town as her shop. Her daughter had a baby boy a few years ago, so she has a grandson to visit. :) So many ups and downs of life. She also cuts my BF's hair and today will be his last hair cut with her too. She is just a good person. I am happy for her that she will finally be able to rest a little and get off her feet. She said she's 69! Does not look it. Sigh… Thanks for letting me stroll down memory lane. 😪
Not much going on today. Should be a quiet remote day. Got a few things to work on, but nothing stressful. I like to ease in to the weekend.

I ended up only at work for a couple of hours on Friday. I slept about 30 of 36 hours from Thursday night through Saturday morning. I feel better now except a weird cough. Going to call in this afternoon and see what I can take for it.

Ugh, sorry to hear you have been feeling icky. LOTS of stuff going around it seems. I have seen people with colds and have heard about the Noro-Virus making its rounds around these parts as well. 🤢 Positive healthy vibes all around!!
It is soooo cold here. Just miserable. I have not left the house since Saturday afternoon… We got snow on Saturday night in to Sunday. We feel a good six inches fell! Yesterday my BF cleaned off the steps, the driveway and dug out the car. He decided to run it through the car wash (his great idea by the way!) and now everything is just super cold and frozen. Decided to pass on going to the gym. It is just too cold. Will get back to it over the weekend and next week when I am off.
Yes, where did 2025 go? Ten days until Christmas! My gifts for my niece and nephew should arrive today. Need to wrap them up real quick and turn them around so they get them in plenty of time. Will do the same with one small gift I purchased for my Mom. That's it. My shopping is done. 😊

Went to the chiropractor last night and she told me to take ALL the things and I feel better this morning. I should have gone a week ago. Silly me!
I am almost through ALL of the stacks on my desk! Assuming (probably falsely) that nobody drops anything else in my lap, I will be done very soon and can get to some of the research that I like to do. :)

I have to clean and decorate this weekend since we are going to have people at our house. I think I might end up taking an extra day next week, or at least working from home one day. We'll see who is coming when and what the weather looks like.

I had to get up a little earlier this morning in order to be in and on an 8:30am call! Luckily traffic was not too bad!
Been going through the stuff I need to get done before year end and it kind of feels a little cleansing LOL to know what I have to do. It is not that much which is nice. Of course day to day stuff will come up but not a long list of stuff. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
My Mom is back in her apartment and back from the rehab facility she was in and is doing well. She's got a family friend there today helping her unpack and organize. Phew. That was a good six weeks of getting back on her feet!

Good morning! Something DID get dropped in my lap yesterday, but I also got my desk completely cleared off! I had to have the lady across the hall come and look at it because it doesn't happen very often and I needed a witness! LOL I even took all the post it notes from the bottom of my screens and put them in a little picture frame so they stop falling off across my desk.
@Meghan509 I am so glad your mom is back home! It has been a good long while. That is really nice that she had someone to help her get settled back in. I bet she is really happy to be back.

Glad you are rocking and rolling as well @katenkognito! That is a good idea for the Post It notes! I have a cube with walls that let you pin stuff, so my walls are covered in different distribution lists, reminders, etc.! It is sort of organized chaos but it works!
Had a nice luncheon today with one of the teams I support. They are nice people. Honestly everybody I work with is nice and I think that's why I will be here for seventeen years in April. Where does the time go???
So it has been so cold and dreary here that our poor Ring camera battery has not been able to charge. BF had to take the battery OUT and try charging it manually since solar thingy is just not happening at the moment. Sigh…
Another cool one here but less cold than yesterday which is nice. Rain and a little more warmth will be coming through Thursday in to Friday which will hopefully clear some of this snow up and out of here. Tired of having a snowy driveway!
