Happy New Year!
It's time to set realistic, attainable goals for 2026:
🧡Eat more colors and wear more colors
❣️February wellness check in with my doctor
💛Food Prep- easy grab and go lunches, and simple healthy dinners..easy stess snacks like carrots, cucumbers, and celery prepped and ready to go to work.
🧡Log consistently and weigh in consistently
🤸Walk and dance more… stretch more…
🏋️♀️Add handweights to tone
🙂Lose 1/2 pound per week for 52 weeks
My goal is to slowly and steadily build healthier habits this year and slowly and steadily lose weight.
Jill😊

Hi, Jill and Gang,
Thanks so much for keeping this going, Jill @jm216! Yes, I'm still here and I'm NOT giving up! I have decided that it IS best to weigh in every day in order to stay accountable. To prevent myself from getting too discouraged by daily fluctuations, I have now downloaded a neat, little Android app called, "WeighFit" which tracks stats as you enter weight. The stats page looks like this:
It's pretty clean-looking and easy to use. It doesn't show my height and age on this page but my height is 5'3" (160cm) and my age is 67 (DOB: 08/18/1958). I live alone with one cat in a 2-bedroom apartment I've lived in for over 45 years in the Boston, MA area and I still work full time (Cambridge, MA). I have one married son (age 42) who lives in Cambridge, MA (no grandchildren).
My weigh-in days are Wednesdays in order to sync up with a program I'm in. Therefore, I am reporting today's weight and will report daily from now on:
12/31/25: 154.2 lbs.
My goal for January 31 is to get below 150. I will set additional goals for each month. I would like to get my BMI below 25.0 by Summer, 2025 ( weight 140 or less) and my ultimate goal is to maintain a weight of 132-135, hopefully by my 68th birthday.
My calorie goal is to (ideally) not go over 1,525 calories per day.
Other Goals:
- No more "negative self talk".
- No alcoholic beverages.
- At least 20 minutes planned activity, at least 3 times/week.
- Minimize "doom-scrolling".
- 10:30 bedtime on work nights.
- No more phone after 10pm.
That's a good start.
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and successful New Year!🎉

Hi. looking for motivation and accountability. have lost and gained weight a thousand times before. some day this is bound to stick.
So goals: aim for 1200 to 1500 cal a day; lose 1 pound a week, average; exercise 3 times a week or 90 minutes; eventually want to add in weights, but I'm aiming low right now so I start out with successes.
Things that I think will help me: plan meals; purge house of junk food; have healthy foods in stock.
Things I've yet to figure out: positive self talk; deciding I like eating healthy; Substitutions besides food for when I want to eat but know I don't need to

Welcome, @dahliacats1! We can do this because we are stronger together.
We can't be perfect but we can always try our best.

Hi all!
Jumping back on the forums for some extra motivation and accountability post baby. I'll update tomorrow with stats, but for now I'm just saying hello and looking forward to meeting everyone and cheering you all on!
My goals for January in addition to logging: Lose 1.5 lb/week (average), and spending one hour outside daily (most days this will be walking, though tomorrow it might be shovelling snow!)

I'm Becca, 53, 5'6".
My continuing goals: Drink more than 64 oz of water, 25+ grams of fiber, and 100+ grams protein.
The last four months of 2025 I failed the workout goals pretty badly.(Work got crazy) I'm going to attempt 3 days of extra activity, preferably weights and jogging, but I'll take anything at this point.
I ended December at 255.6
Happy New Year everyone. I look forward to a 2026 of progress and motivation with you all!

Today's calories 1,521 (4 cals. under limit)

Correction: The app I'm using to track daily and average weights is called, "WeightFit". (I had left out the first "t'.)
I'm addition to statistics, it has a graph chart too. Check it out!

Hi all. A new year - wow 😮. Not feeling good. Ate terribly past 2 days. Will get back to normal tomorrow- I have to start making a life for myself on my own. I’m having a hard time with this new reality of being alone. I miss my mum already and wish I could live up there but it’s too expensive. My Dad is looking to buy me a house but it’s not going to be anywhere near my mum so I will continue being on my own in another new town.

I flaked out last year. Lets see what 2026 brings. Not setting specific goal weights as its 100+lbs so for me personally.. whatever.
I want to record just the daily up/downs. Today is 0.0lbs.. tmrw if down it'd look like this -0.3 if I'm up it'd look like this +0.3 on the 3rd if i was down again it'd be -0.6lbs or 0.0 so that number always means how much Ive lost from my start Weight.
I cant seem to stay solidly on plan so trying to find that spark that keeps things interesting? Also had some success with IF in fall so def following that but also eating the better choices too this time.
Also keeping a daily 10k steps goal again. Thats all for now. Look forward to seeing us all succeed this month.

The work begins (again) and I’m Very Ready to get back into routine. Happy New Year everyone! Wishing you all Peace, Love, Prosperity, Good Health and Success.

Hi! I'm Allisyn, I'm a long-time start and stop user of MFP. My goal for this year is to treat my body like I love it while improving strength, flexibility and endurance.
What that means to me:
- Eat healthy food in appropriate portions (unprocessed, high fiber, tasty food)
- Daily Exercise (Dance, yoga, hiking)
- Practice self care (take my meds, continue therapy, maintain boundaries, create art)
- Embrace where I am now (wear fun and pretty clothes, style my hair, don't wait for a magic number on the scale to feel good about myself)
Highest weight: 358 lbs
Current weight: 340.5 lbs
Goal for 2026: 240 lbs
Ultimate goal: 130 lbs
My goals for this week:
- Track all my food
- Continue daily weights
- Daily Yoga practice

Here I go again. Dread standing on the scale but embrace the accountability factor. Also posting my daily calorie intake has given me insights on how snacking can really add those extra calories. My name is Mary. I am going to continue with a monthly goal of a 2lb weight loss. Happy to be back with this group and a big thank you to Jill @jm216 for leading us on a healthy Happy New Year 2026.
