Hello Everyone
I am age 67 and here to lose weight while improving my health. This is a different challenge now than it was at age 50. Good luck to everyone here! We are here to win in a big way!
Hello and welcome!
I'm 70, and an old-timer here on MFP: Lost about 50 pounds 10 years ago, been hanging around since to stay at a healthy weight (so far, so good!) and keep my head in the game.
When it comes to participating here in the Community, I'd encourage you to consider participating in all-ages threads and groups: People losing weight have a lot in common, regardless of age, and can help each other with ideas to try.
If you'd like to just chat with others in our age group, or ask questions of that demographic specifically, this is a good thread:
Don't be dismayed if you open that up, and see very old posts. It's still active. As with any long-time thread here on MFP, the newest posts are at the end, on the high-numbered pages. You can jump straight there with number/arrow links you'll find at the top and bottom of each page of the thread. Reading the most recent couple of pages at the end will give you an idea what goes on there.
I feel like success is more about persistence, patience and perseverance, plus finding the personally easiest (yet successful) plan . . . more about focusing on changing habits permanently in ideally pleasant but at minimum tolerable and practical ways . . . and not so much about "lose weight fast", which can be too hard to stick with, and doesn't let us learn the new habits to keep the weight off.
I'm cheering for you to succeed: If your experience is like mine, the quality of life improvement is more than worth the effort it takes to accomplish.
Best wishes!
