Today has been quiet but still plugging along. Is it 5 o'clock yet??!! We had a company in this morning to look at one of our cubes and to see if we can turn it in to a spot for two people vs. one. We are pretty much out of space as far as cubes and offices go and wouldn't you know we just resigned our lease and are staying even longer. LOL
Light rain and low 70's F here at the moment. Spring is trying, that's for sure.

Hope you are having a good one @KateNkognito. Not too much going on here. Today is my Friday since I am taking tomorrow off. I have a hair cut and highlights scheduled for tomorrow at 9:00am as well. Then a low key weekend on tap for the most part. Heading to BF's parents house on Sunday for Easter. His family is still visiting. They go back on Tuesday, so this weekend will be the last visit with them. Boo. Time flies!

And I got a call from a fellow yesterday and he said, "I hear you are the little lady that helps old guys like me with this paperwork stuff!" 🤣 Apparently, they are passing my direct number amongst themselves! We got our new windows in yesterday! They look AMAZING! I am SO happy! Now to go shopping for new blinds/curtains!
A chill Friday is on tap here. The weather has flipped back to cool and cloudy/rainy. I don't mind. It feels very spring-like today.

@KateNkognitoYesterday, I was a passenger in the car as we were driving to visit BF's family when I saw your little message on "that other app"! Made me smile! Thank you! 😄
Yesterday was rainy and cool and meh but Friday and Saturday were not bad. Today the sun is out and we are in the mid 40's F but it is looking like we will have a good ten days of nicer weather ahead!
Glad you got your new windows in! That is exciting. I bet you will notice a difference in your heating bills! That is kind of our problem. Our house is very old and we have what we call "Swiss cheese windows" here. LOLOL.
Friday was nice to have off! I had my hair appointment first thing in the AM and it was another longer one since she put in foils, then took them out and put in color, then took that out and put in different color, then washed and cut and blow dried. At the end of the day I have a darker blond hue but I am very happy. I think this is the way forward to cover the grays that have started to come in around my crown and this will help with regrowth too. My hair grows FAST. Not complaining. So now I won't have that huge line of lighter hair and darker hair and a few grays. UGH.
Easter was nice with BF's family. His Mom made two different types of fish (salmon and cod) veggies and potatoes. They don't do a traditional ham or roast like I am used to. Their culture is fish for holidays. Luckily I don't mind and I love it all. 😋
BF's cousins from Argentina are flying back home this week. We said good bye to them last night, for now. Boo… 😢 At least we had a lot of fun with them and they enjoyed their time here.
That is pretty much it from here. No more time off planned until the Friday before Memorial Day at the moment, but I bet that comes up fast!!

@Meghan509 Glad you like your new cut and color. I get mine done next week. 😊 You should totally go to Argentina some time for a visit! I have always wanted to visit South America. It is also on the bucket list.
We had a good weekend. Brother-in-law and his family came over on Saturday for the car show on Main Street. It was lovely weather and there were some fantastic cars! For Easter, we just hung out at home and my husband made kabobs and we had pie.
The windows are fantastic. I think we will see the most difference in the summer. We have a lot of windows on the south side of the house and in the warmer months, you can really feel the heat.
The weather has gone back to actual spring and it is supposed to get nice and rainy at the end of the week. I am going to take advantage and start getting some evening walks in.

Well, today hasn't been a great day. I found out first thing this morning that a former coworker passed yesterday. She was a fantastic person and will really be missed by a lot of people. That, combined with a lot of other things, has made me really cranky and in a generally bad mood. I am coping with carbs and caffeine… like the childish adult I am. 🤣

A little busy here but not too much. Yesterday got sucked up with a colleague here who is visiting. He asked me to help him change his return flight home to today vs. Thursday. Back and forth and back and forth with travel and finally literally just before 5:00pm we found out he got on the flight he wanted to. Sheesh.
Today we woke up to 20's F! UGH. But, at least it is sunny. Supposed to be decent for a good stretch here too and we should be in the 80's F for a bit next week! I can't wait. I hope you enjoy your nightly walks!
BF's family left yesterday to head back down to Argentina. He said his cousin was very sad to go because BF's parents are in their late 80's and early 90's so there is a chance that he won't be able to see them again. Ugh. It pains me to even type that. 😓

Today is a better day. I have gotten all my things I have to do done and now I am waiting on a call back from someone. Next up is a quick finish to something that has been sitting on my desk that I have worked on off and on for a while. Hopefully I can get it all finished today.

The weather is supposed to get rainy/stormy for the next week or so. I'll take it! We have been a bit dry lately and living in the grain belt, the crops need all the April showers!

Happy almost Friday! I have to say this week has gone by fast!! No complaints. LOL
We have made plans to get together with friends of ours for dinner on Saturday night. It is an all you can eat sushi restaurant and they have other Asian specialties like Chinese, Thai, etc. on the menu as a regular option if you don't do all you can eat. We are looking forward to the treat on Saturday evening. We have not seen this couple in a few months.
@KateNkognito I know what you mean about rain! It is good and hope the crops get watered! That is cool. When we were driving down to DC on the way down the route took us off of I-95 for a bit and through a beautiful stretch of farm country with big fields and tractors! So scenic and pretty.
Thanks! Yes, BF's family made it safely back down to Argentina without any issues. They had to do a double connection on the return which is not ideal but it was the best option for the price.

This morning flew by, but this afternoon is dragging. A coworker is leaving and I am going to start cross-training to do what they do until a replacement gets hired. That typically takes a while. Fun times. If you know anyone in Kansas with a geology degree, send them my way!

I hear you about not much to report. Same here. The news from working remotely today is the contractors are back and they are fixing our front steps, side deck (where we enter and exit) and they also made new steps out the back door in to the back yard. Next up will be painting an staining everything. The contractor said we won't be able to enter at the front once he stains. We'll need to use the back door. Luckily they are also installing a new lock and door knob since the key was old and is lost (before our time). Fun times!
I would be excited about new blinds and curtains too if I were you! LOL Hope you get some nice new stuff. :)

Thank you! We had a good dinner with friends. Since the weather was nice and sunny (just a tad on the cool side) we decided on a Plan B - Meeting at their house vs. going for sushi. It was a nice change up and a cheaper one too. LOL These friends built a structure on top of their deck with thin screened in walls with windows that close. They put a heater out there, a mini fridge, table, chairs, couches, etc. So cool. It was a great night.
Today has been a little busy working remotely of course. Lots of emails and all that fun stuff.

Busy but good here. Traffic was definitely worse today for some reason. But the good news is we are at 75 degrees F and sunny! Love this for us. LOL
Had another electrician in today at the office. I walked them around so they could see all of our existing light fixtures and bulbs. We are hoping to upgrade to LED soon. Some of the fixtures here in our office are from the 90's and it shows!
Our landlords are having our new side deck stained today. Luckily we have a new back door knob and key so we can enter and exit that way if needed. The contractor will also be putting another layer of paint on the front steps. The little house is looking good!
Not too much going on otherwise. Just noticed that it is just shy of noon here and time for lunch.

Well, I get to go back to the dentist today for a filling. I guess I made it this long without one, so not a bad deal. I also get my hair cut this afternoon, too. However, this means that I have been running around all morning trying to get stuff done since I also was out yesterday afternoon for the first dentist appointment. Have a lovely rest of the week!

Sunny and 82 degrees F here at the moment! Yesterday as I was walking out at 5:00pm I noticed A LOT of people from our building leaving at the same time. Nice weather will do that!
Nothing else exciting to report here. One gripe. On "that other app" my Samsung watch is not syncing properly and registering my steps and exercise. Seems to be a thing a lot of people are dealing with. Frustrating but not the end of the world. Sometimes I manually enter my walk on the treadmill. Better than nothing.

Today is definitely quieter than yesterday. My colleague that I typically have lunch with is working remotely today so I am going to head out during lunch and go walk around Target for a few minutes. I have a return and was planning on hitting the one on the way home, but this is just as good as it gets me out for a bit. It is another nice and sunny day - 80 degrees F and not a cloud in sight. Who knew?
Yesterday got busy with making a lot of different travel reservations for people. It is funny how it goes from 0 to 60 with that stuff. This morning when I came in one of my folks came over and said he needed to cancel the flights and hotel for one of the trips we just booked. Sigh… Just got off the phone with someone at a hotel in Germany. He was nice and he spoke good English thankfully!
This morning I woke up at 5:15am and could not fall back asleep. UGH… My alarm goes off at 6:25am on working from the office days. I hope I am not wishing I had toothpicks to keep my eye lids open tonight, while trying to watch TV. LOL
Update on my cholesterol. My MD had put me on a statin since my numbers were going up, up, and up despite weight loss and exercise. My Nutritionist MD said blame menopause. LOL Fun, fun, fun. Last Friday I went and had blood work done to get it checked. It went down to 168! This is the lowest cholesterol number for me in my entire adult life. Who knew a little statin could help so well?!

The sun is shining here at the moment on and off and we are in the low 70's F! Should be a little rainy and cooler over the weekend but then it will be warming up more. We are almost out of the cold, cold weather and I like it.
BF hit his goal weight today! He made it to just a tad below 195. He is 5' 10" and is happy with his weight for now. Now to figure out how to maintain. LOL I am losing very slowly, half a pound a week more or less. All good. I will turn 54 years old next month and I am feeling pretty good. Currently wearing size ten jeans. 😊
I did manage to sleep a little longer this morning. Made it to around 6:30am which is pretty normal for me lately. I will take it. 😎

Our weekend was good. Quiet but good. Got the grocery shopping done on Saturday. Went the gym on both Saturday and Sunday which was good. Yesterday it was rainy and cool so we were moving slowly (shocker LOL) basically just went to the gym and headed back home. It was cool and rainy. Next thing you know later in the afternoon at around 5:00pm the sun came back out! Turned out to be a decent day after all weather wise.
I am assuming you probably have Amazon Prime? Ever watch any shows on Prime? If so, I can recommend the thriller series called Scarpetta. It is based on the books by Patricia Cornwell. Nicole Kidman plays the lead, Kay Scarpetta. She's a medical examiner. Jamie Lee Curtis and Bobby Canivale are other actors in the series. It is good. We are almost done and have been liking it.

We finished the show last night and another heads up that there is a pretty big cliff hanger at the ending. This may or may not be your thing. We Googled and looks like they are shooting season two but it won't be released until spring of 2027!! SMH. LOL
Glad the curtain and blind shopping went well! Oh yeah window stuff can get pricey! We ended up getting cheapo curtains from Wal-Mart and Amazon for most of the items we needed. We didn't need blinds which helps. So far so good. Which reminds me that I am due to pop all of our curtains in the washing machine. It is time!

Yesterday was Monday's evil twin! Going too many directions at once! I feel your pain, @Meghan509! It must be something in the air. Everyone seems to have lost their minds a little.
I am learning the new stuff, catching up on the old stuff, and totally failing on all the stuff in between. But I got to see one of the neighborhood foxes this morning and two dogs on my way to work. It is cloudy and gloomy, but it is going to be a good day because I said so! I have been in kind of a mood lately, but God is good and I am better today.

Just finished up at an Earth Day luncheon. It was coordinated by one of our colleagues here. She did a great job. We had lunch and a quiz via one of the phone apps. So fun. The winner got a Dunkin gift card! It wasn't me unfortunately. LOL
Ooh new siding is cool! Our landlord said they are most likely going to paint our house next year. That is exciting! The power wash did a really good job. It is white and he used bleach so it got all the bird crap, moss, dead spiders, cobwebs, and dirt off. Good stuff!
The morning was a little busy. Trying to get flights booked for my boss to go to France next week. Fun, fun, fun. Last minute so the return flight we want is not showing up. I sent an email first thing and still at 1:25pm ET crickets. UGH.
That is pretty much it from this end. I think I am going to have to call travel soon. Boo.
