Hi, I hope everyone is happy and healthy π
I regard myself as an expert at losing weight because I have been working on it for most of my life π but Iβm even more of an expert at gaining it all back, plus some.
So I decided to dedicate my focus and attention to accurately track calories, incorporate walks (even if for 5 minutes at a time, aiming for 15 minutes per walk) daily, and holding myself accountable by writing down my metrics daily (calories, macros, weight, exercise, and steps).
Since I have yo-yo dieted for so long, I decided to make changes so that I can see progress over time instead of trying to quickly lose as much weight as possible. I heard a YouTuber say something along the lines of βIf you lose even a pound a week, then you have lost 52 pounds in a yearβ. So I made that may goal-1 pound a week. Wonβt be mad if I hit 2, but will focus on 1.
I have tried keto, fasting, calorie deficit-but was not consistent or honest with my inputs for tracking.
This is what is different in my approach now: daily tracking in MFP as well as manually writing my daily metrics in my planner- I figured giving myself written assignments will help me to be more accountable. I also aim to hit 10,500 steps daily- which I was already averaging about 9k, but now I will incorporate at least 1 walk in my day, with the intention of increasing after I become consistent. I will intentionally build my meals around protein to keep myself satiated since I know I am a binge eater. This is also my first time paying for a tracking app, so I think that will push me harder to be honest with my tracking.
