July is here! Happy 250 years to the USA!
Good morning!
Sorry for not checking in yesterday. Busy, busy, busyβ¦
Wrapping stuff up here before heading out at the end of the day for time off.
Looking forward to the long weekend and time away. Yes, @KateNkognito our office is also closed on Friday!
Relaxing at home is good! I am jealous that you can enjoy your city fireworks from your front lawn! Ours is at our local beach and the traffic getting in and out of there is a crap show unfortunately. So we tend not to go. It is a bummer. I wish the city would figure that out and plan better. We literally sat in our car waiting for AN HOUR to get out of the parking lot. Never again. π£
Stay cool! The heat and humidity is on the rise here too. For today through the weekend we are headed to close to 100 degrees F and chance of thunderstorms in the evening as a result.
Speaking of thunder, at 4:00am this morning we got woken up from a sound sleep with what sounded like a thunder strike right outside our bedroom window! UGH! I was able to fall back asleep, but not right away. π
Hope work is not to busy for you today! I am definitely getting stuff done. Yes, the dishwasher is set to be delivered on Wednesday, July 8. Phew. Our office renovation project is coming along. They installed our company logo lit up with lights in our reception area last week and it is beautiful! Everybody is raving about it which is cool!
We are heading out in the afternoon tomorrow for the Catskills, NY. I will most likely not be able to check in. I hope you have a nice long weekend and a good Independence Day! Happy 250 USA! And I will see you soon.
@Meghan509 Safe travels and have a lovely time off! Glad you are getting everything done!! We had all the stormy weather last week. There were a couple of really big storms that rolled through. It does keep a body awake when lightning strikes that close! π―
I am just in really quickly to check in. I have a bit of stuff to do, but not too much.
Have a great rest of the week and Happy 4th! ππΊπΈ
I have had a MONDAY of a Monday after a long weekend. We had some family over for the 4th and went to see the fireworks display. It was nice, but I was not in a people-y mood, so it took a lot out of me.
@Meghan509 I hope you had a lovely weekend!
The weather here has been hot, but the humidity has dropped and there has been a nice breeze most days. However, the AC in my section of our office space is broken and I swear my office is the warmest because it is cut off from the main hall. Praying that the guy comes to fix it today.
Have a great week!
Today is a MUCH better day! AC is fixed and I am generally in a better mood! I am fairly busy, but the sun is shining and God got me out of bed alive and healthy, so I will go with the win. π
@Meghan509 I hope your week is going well!
Got to go to get this stuff done by tomorrow. My boss is going to be out starting on Friday and I need to help with some stuff while he's out.
Have a great rest of the week!
Happy belated Independence Day to you, @KateNkognito!!!
I am back in the office today. First day back!
Hope you are having a good day and they are not driving you too crazy. :)
Yikes, glad you got the A/C fixed at the office. Not cool at all! No pun intended. LOL
The Catskills was FUN!!! The house was beautiful! Very clean. Central air. Nice kitchen and bedrooms, etc. We arrived on Thursday afternoon, no traffic or anything. Everybody else got in that night. We had a nice dinner and then Friday and Saturday we literally spent ALL DAY in the pool! The weather was warm but not crazy humid and not a cloud in the sky!! It was a salt water pool, which was nice too! We had a lot of nice food. Our friends planned all of the meals and it all worked out really well. The holiday itself was a lot of fun. We ate all the traditional foods. LOL It rained late on Saturday when we were already all inside. Heavy rain and storms came through. Then it cleared up and was beautiful again! Saturday night we all watched the fireworks on the TV at 9:00pm ET! Check out was at 11:00am on Sunday. We had found out that night that the storms came through where we live in CT and our power was knocked out. :( We drove home on Sunday and arrived mid day. We knew we still would have no power when we arrived. Decided to check in to a hotel as a precautionary since we didn't want to be without a comfy place to relax and sleep, Wi-Fi, etc. Power and cable came back on at 6:00pm Sunday. We checked out of the hotel and went home! LOL
Got all unpacked and got the laundry done on Monday. Our gym was still closed because their power also had gone out and had not come back on yet! Monday was a rainy day. Not windy thankfully. Power went out again on Monday night in to Tuesday morning! It was out for around two hours. Luckily that was it and Tuesday was just a typical cloudy and humid day! Relaxed and got some errands done. Went back to the gym too!
Phew. Been digging out my inbox this morning, but work is okay. Busy but not crazy.
That is my little recap of my last week or so! I hope your day is going well.
I will see you soon! :)
@Meghan509 That sounds like quite the adventure! The vacation spot sounds AMAZING! And I am glad you had such a nice time. π Power outages are no fun. We live in an area where they are fairly common, and, because it is a rural area, can last a while. We have solar and gas generators and battery backups. I hope you get all caught up today and the rest of the week is peaceful!
Work is not too bad. I think a lot of people are on vacation this week. I am a little nervous that next week they will all try to catch up.
I just finished a 42 hour fast and lost almost 5 pounds! I know a lot of that will come back, but I feel a lot less puffy and I can feel that my blood sugar is better. I just needed a reset after all the food I had over the weekend.
I hope the rest of the week goes well!
Congrats on the fast @KateNkognito! Nice loss!! Yes, that is a good idea for a reset. I hope it ALL stays off for you. π
Yep, I think we need to look in to a generator. It would need to be the gas kind that hooks up to the house but I feel like we have been hit with some heavy stuff over the last few years and the not knowing is what makes me spiral. And no Wi-Fi also stinks. Luckily everything came back on in a timely manner and we didn't lose any food.
Yesterday was busy at work but all of a sudden (dare I say) I am finally getting caught up. π²
I feel like a lot of people are on vacations around here too. My commute IN to work has been pretty easy. Going home definitely more volume and cars, which is strange. Where is everybody in the morning?! LOL I am going to try and leave a little early tonight to see if that helps.
Funny thing I heard while getting ready today. They said that this coming week is the most popular vacation week in the summer. Who knew!? We have friends heading down to Cape May, NJ a nice shore point that people enjoy around this neck of the woods. Our friends go every summer. I have never been but it sounds nice. One of these years.
I am probably going to research a Florida trip for early November since the clock is ticking and we need to figure out something, plus I get to see my Mom.
That is pretty much it from my end. Looking forward to hamburgers and salad for dinner tonight. βΊοΈ That's all.
Hope you have a lovely rest of your day and a good Friday Eve. Nice short week here for me! I likey! π
@Meghan509 I hope it stays quiet for you! And a generator is fantastic if you get a lot of outages. I am hoping that everyone decides to go on vacation soon. I am pretty busy this week. And I swear everyone is sleeping in in the morning, but leaving work early in the evening just in time to be in my way!
I told my supervisor that once we get someone new in and trained, I am taking a week off. I don't know where I will go or if I will just stay in bed, but I am definitely in the mood to not be at work!
I have to run and get some things done before this afternoon. Have a fantastic Friday Eve!
