Going to start light weight training... advice!?

Thanks for all the advice everyone!!
By lean muscle, I only meant that i want to get stronger, but not BULK up lol. I already learned about the whole "toning" fallacy.
I want to tighten everythng up, get stronger and try to change some of the "flabby" areas into firmer/more fit areas!
I will go to bodybuilder now and check out a begginers program.. as well as look into those books mentioned!
My apartment complex has a new fitness center, and while the weight machines are new... the only free weights available are dumbells, but theres a really good range of them.0
