Sick and Discouraged

This is my 4th week being sick. My first week, I thought that I could exercise it away by doing more intense work outs. Didn't get any better. Second week, I figured I'd do the same stuff I usually do- count calories and do lighter work outs. Still didn't get any better. Decided I should rest after my MFPals told me to take it easy. It's been 2 weeks and I got worse! Not only am I worse but I gained back almost ALL of the weight that I have worked so hard to lose. I'm exhausted, I'm disappointed, and I'm unmotivated. I don't know where to go from here. Please help me.

    What are you sick with??
don't push yourself to workout, your body is fighting a battle of its own right now and can probably use the extra support. Have you talked to your dr?

Have you spoken with a doctor? 4 weeks is a long time to be sick, especially if it's getting worse. I would be more concerned with your overall health than some extra pounds.

I just started over again and am feeling hopeful that I can do it. I have so much weight to lose it's scary:smile::smile: . However I believe with spiritual help and talking more about my issues I can really do it this time

Please ask yourself if you are having enough food. Then get on to your doctor you can't mess about with your health.
  • Didn't think it was serious enough to go to a doctor for. It seems like it's just the common cold (coughing, sneezing, head congestion, fatigue). I reserve doctor visits for bigger things like hives and bad allergic reactions to shrimp. It's so hard to not want to work out when I feel all blobby and fat. Sitting around watching myself waste away.

I thought this might been the issue too so I started eating more... hence the weight gain. Doesn't seem to help me health-wise.

Being sick with a cold for a month and having it get worse is a serious thing. If you just had a lingering cough, that would be one thing, but if you still don't feel better from when you got the cold, that's not good. I mean, strep throat is just a bad sore throat at face value, but the biggest indicator of strep is the fact that it doesn't go away after a week.

    ding ding.

I'd be seeing a doctor. I'm willing to put up with the common cold- crud for about 10 working days- usually a few days out at work (they are germ-phobic) and then just feeling curdy- but if almost 2 weeks go buy and I"m not feeling better- nope nope nope off to the doctor.

rest- food- drugs. these things are important if you remain sick. No need to be sick for 4 weeks and not see someone.
    Feel better!

Actually, this coughing and sneezing and head congestion could be more than a cold. Sinus infection or even a bronchial infection. I have even seen people diagnosed with Pnemonia with your symptoms. 4 weeks get your butt to the Dr, it could be way more serious than a cold.

:O Now I'm worried. I'll make an appointment to see my doctor this week. Thank you everyone!
