I have the onset of Arthritis in both knees. My knee caps are litterally sitting on bone. I dont do things like squats as it puts to much pressure on my knees. My question is with exercise and weight loss will this go away or will I have this the rest of my life??

You'll have it the rest of your life, because cartilage can't regenerate. Weight loss will likely lessen the pain, however. You could also ask for a referral to a physical therapist who can give you some exercises to help make sure your knee cap is tracking properly.
There's a product called SynVisc, which is like a cartilage replacement thing, that doctors can inject into your knees to help provide a cushion of sorts. Might be worth asking your doctor about if you don't feel improvement from weight loss and strengthening exercises.0 -
Ditto, I have a torn meniscus, and osteoarthritis in my both of my knees. I am paying 95 dollars a session for physical theraphy to find modified work outs I can do to strengthen them. Haven't started yet, first session is Friday, once I get the hang of the exercises once or twice a week, I will stop going and do what I learned on my own0

I have arthritis in both knees also and take Meloicam daily, if I miss dose I am in serious pain. I have just started doing squats and it was painful but not impossible. I have only lost 7 pounds but I can already feel the difference with the pain level. I hope you find a solution.0
