Starting off with a question...I've never had ladyfingers before outside of tiramisu where they are soaked with coffee, Di'saronno and/or Frangelico and therefore, mushy....are ladyfingers supposed to be crunchy? I tried the Haagen Dazs Tiramisu gelato yesterday and though I loved the gelato itself, the crunchy cookie chunks weren't working for me.

Day 1: Stop&Shop Banana Fudge Chunk super premium ice cream 1 svg
Day 2: Talenti Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip gelato 1/2 svg
Day 3: Haagen Dazs Tiramisu gelato and Black Cherry Amaretto gelato 1/2 svg each
Day 4: Talenti Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip gelato w/a banana 1 svg

Concluded that Maple's Organics and Jeni's Splendid are too hard to get (driving 60-80 miles one-way or mail order) so I'll have to wait til the next time I am in Boston and gorge myself on delicious then. Very interested in Phin & Phebes now, too.

oh, i might actually like the Haagen Dazs Tiramisu then. because i like the flavors of Tiramisu but i don't care for the soggy factor. crunchy sounds good

Update: *stomps foot and pouts* Cannot get Phin and Phebes in Mass :( It is an ice cream made in Brooklyn, NY, a state that borders Mass, and is available in the entirety of the southeast, all of the central timezone and TEXAS!!!!.....but not New England. Total BS. Also cannot get Tillamook (Oregon), Front Porch (NC) or Blue Bell (Texas) so I've concluded that this summer I am just going to have to quit my job, hijack an RV and tour the country eating ice cream. Hitting Maine and Tennessee for Maple's and Jeni's, too.

I really want to try that Phin & Phebes Coconut & Key Lime Ice Cream and the Banana Whama, I guess 25 minutes to the closed Whole Foods isn't that bad if you can't get it at all in the state of Mass.
I'm also now craving the Talenti Caramel Apple Pie but have never come across it at any of my local grocery stores : (

What's the word on the Breyer's Gelato? I'm planning on picking up the "tiramasu" tonight, but I don't want to waste precious freezer space on a crappy product.

Dont waste your money or space
Interesting. Good to know. I actually saw them yesterday where I shop. They had 4 different flavors. The caramel one looked appealing though. I didn't buy it

I loved the tiramisu. Haven't tried the others.

Thanks to all who replied to my question. I actually bought the Breyer's Tiramasu last night, along with Talenti Egg Nog and some weird company's ginger and a lychee, but I "accidentally" got on the ferry and took a road trip this morning. Looks Like It''ll have to wait until Thursday.

Tonight I got "Chocolate Explosion" from Boston Pizza. It was a mousse and ice cream "cake" doused in chocolate sauce. I'm not going to say it sucked, but I much would've preferred a plain bowl of GOOD ice cream. The whole meal in general made me glad I live in a place that doesn't have "casual dining" restaurants.

Day1: Talenti Sea Salt Caramel (1 cup)
Day2: Talenti Sea Salt Caramel (1 cup), Kroger Neapolitan Ice Cream Sandwich
Day3: Talenti Belgian Chocolate (1 cup)
Day4: House-made Beet Granita Sorbet(1/2C) on a brownie, plus a mid-day metabolism boost from a Latino Heat cupcake
    Day5: Tillamook Grandma's Cake Batter 2C
Day6: Stone Ridge Creamery Caramel Cheesecake (4C)
    Day7: Stone Ridge (3.25C)
    Day8; Tillamook Grandma's Cake Batter 3C
    Day9: Boston Pizza Chocolate Explosion

Day 3- Ben & Jerry's Peanut Butter Fudge Core 3/4 cup

OK the blackberry chocolate chip talenti was a HUGE letdown for me. It didn't have enough of that tangy black raspberry flavor IMHO.

Last night I made homemade banana coconut rum raisin ice cream. DEEEE-LICIOUS.

This thread has really motivated me to try out other flavors.

That's weird, my Breyers Tiramisu lady fingers were soft, not crunchy. I think I would have liked them better if they had been.

I love coffee flavored ice cream and would totally bang the Coffee Chocolate Chip Talenti. All. Night. Long.

I saw that yesterday, and almost got it, but the bookkeeper is probably already mad that I'm taking up so much space in the freezer. She's complained before. I will have it, though!

Day 1: Safeway pumpkin pie ice cream (1/2 c)
Day 2: Edy's slow churned peanut butter cup (1/2 c) chocolate peanut butter Pop Tart ice cream sandwich (see avatar)
Day 3: Queen City Creamery's pistachio ice cream (free with lunch, about 1/2 c eyeballing it, and that's a sample!). If you're ever in Cumberland, MD, you have to visit this place. They have chocolate, vanilla and a flavor of the day. I had their sea salt caramel cashew a few months ago. A single scoop is like 2-3 servings' worth. Insanely delicious!
Day 4: Turkey Hill Dutch chocolate ice cream (1/2 c) and birthday cake Pop Tart ice cream sandwich
Day 5: Forte chocolate high protein gelato. Would definitely get this gelato again, maybe espresso flavor next. 160 cals, 2.5g fat, 19g carbs, 15g protein.

    PhotoGrid_1396060794991_zpsjtrj1oyn.jpg

Day 6: No room for a full serving, so I had one big spoonful of Talenti caramel cookie crunch (32g).
Day 7: Safeway pumpkin pie ice cream. I hope they bring this back next year. Not as good as B&J's pumpkin cheesecake, but it's a close second.
Day 8: Talenti caramel apple pie gelato (24g) and HD caramelized banana chip (22g). I was so excited to find these! Don't tell my boss I went ice cream shopping before I came in.
Day 9: Edy's slow churned peanut butter cup (1/2 c) chocolate peanut butter Pop Tart ice cream sandwich.

Day 1: Breyer's Tiramisu Gelato; 1/2 cup; 8/10; strong espresso and cream flavors, needs moar ladyfingers. Would bang again.
Day 2: Ben & Jerry's Hazed and Confused Core; 1 cup; 7/10; really digging the hazelnut flavored ice cream and the hazelnut fudge "core," chocolate ice cream flavor is pretty standard, not a huge fan of fudge chip speed bumps. Enjoyable, but I probably won't buy it again.
Day 3: Went to the new market by the gym to look at their interesting ice cream flavors, but I got side tracked by their hard cider options... 330 calories of delicious hard cider later, I realized there was no way to fit ice cream into my day. Wah wah. But the two days on the cleanse appears to be working; I was down a pound yesterday. I must resolve to get back on track today.
Day 4: Breyer's Tiramisu Gelato; 1 cup. Pretty sure that Iliftheavyacrylic is correct; whoever approved the "servings per container" or the serving weight must be dead behind the eyes.
Day 5: It happened again. Went to the new market to look at ice creams; got distracted by cider. On the plus side, I'm trying some really interesting artisanal ciders. wink
Day 6 & 7: As is typical of me for cleanses and other dietary restrictions, the weekend really does me in. I was mostly good all week, but then Saturday and Sunday come along and derail me with pizza and beer.
Day 8: Talenti's German Chocolate Cake Gelato; 1/2 cup. Sweet Jesus. I need this in my life. Every day. It's glorious. I'm incapable of more complex thought. It's a milk chocolate gelato with a caramel swirl and candied pecan and coconut pieces. 10/10, but would not bang again. Would respectfully court and woo with the intention of marrying. Would probably get serious and say "I love you" too soon. But we'd work it out because we're meant to be.:blushing:

I haven't seen that one yet, but belle_of_the_bar also loves this one, if I remember correctly. I will definitely snatch it up if I find it.

ETA why is it that I can remember what people say about ice cream, but I can't remember what I did yesterday?!

I swear, no lie, that every time I go get something I literally hold that flavor in my hand and contemplate buying it but I never do. You have convinced me, it's coming home with me tonight.

    So many wasted years...

ETA: Ice cream is clearly more important than whatever you did yesterday. I mean... it's ice cream!

Talenti Egg Nog?!? What?! In April? NEED

I also completely agree with RivenV's assessment of Talenti German Chocolate Cake. It's probably my favorite out of all the ice creams so far.

I would even consider fighting this woodchuck for a chance to try Talenti Egg Nog.

The same store also had Dreyer's "Limited Edition Egg Nog"... in a green and red package. I have a feeling they are not exactly... umm.. what's the word? Oh yeah... FRESH.

Went to Canadian Superstore today. They had their house brand President's Choice(?) Cotton Candy. It was a half gallon, I'm road tripping, and I already had a basket full of sausages and pickled eggs so I had to pass it up. But I'm definitely intrigued.

I think your Google must be broken. If not, then it's time to move.

When I change the search from "shopping" to "web," I came up with some restaurants. None of the grocery stores have it though. They have ice cream, sorbet, and frozen yogurt. :ohwell:

are you going to require an ice cream pre-nup?

I very much enjoyed Phin & Phebes Banana Whama. I was craving banana pudding yesterday and it definitely hit the spot. Unfortunately i have no idea how it compares to any other banana pudding ice creams (like Blue Bell which is supposed to be THE best) because this is the only brand they sell in my area.

I liked the ginger cookie snap. it was interesting to try but i won't buy that one again. it has a somewhat strong authentic ginger taste to it. If you are a ginger fan then it is probably really good. ( I like gingersnap cookies but i am not a huge fan of Ginger chews or real strong ginger flavor.)

Yeah, I got the same result for my area. Except there is a website where I can order a pint of sea salted caramel for $34. Yeah, $34 for a PINT :noway: Not to mention the shipping was $30+.

Guess I'll have to go to a restaurant, or stick with my ice cream.

Nope. I'm smack dab in the middle of the USA.
