I found 2 cute spring dresses at dollar store, in between sizes, one a little big, the other fitted tight so they were cheap, I bought both, neat being able to wear both, if I want one loose fitting or for church and the other when we go out this summer to fairs, or whatever. I suddenly like to shop after 30 lb loss.
Just talked myself down off the ledge from a pointless pancake binge.. i started making them and was about to put myself well over my calorie goal for no reason
I literally had to talk to myself "why are you doing this? " "you're not even hungry at this minute" "they don't even taste that good" "why are you doing this to yourself when you've already messed up the past few days- do you want to undo all the work you did last year? "
Ugh threw one in the bin and put the pan away. This is why I don't keep flour in the house- I only bought it to make something particular for my husband last week but the pancake making and scoffing is an old bad boredom binge eating habit from when I was a teenager. Luckily it's plain flour so they haven't been tasting that great.
Sorry for the long post just so glad I stopped myself this evening..

You should be congratulating yourself on having the strength to say no. I think that’s great, well done.
I appear to be between sizes again depending on the brand - this time it's a medium and small. I don't know whether to be happy or to be mildly grumpy because I'm perfectly fine wearing mediums (my BMI still classes me at overweight at 27.7) and now I need to go exchange one of the t-shirts I bought today.
I have this one form fitting dress in my closet that I haven’t worn in a few months—it has a high neckline and sleeves, so I can wear it to church, but haven’t bc it had moved from “tailored” to “indecently tight”. Put it on this Sunday and I had a little room to spare in the hips/belly! Even though the scale has stayed pretty stable, even a pound or so up, it didn’t feel like the straight jacket I remember....guess upping my lifting has had some effect!
I was going to have a planned treat day at the parents' house on Sunday. Blew a tire on my car Saturday night. Almost asked for a ride, but then realized the only reason I wanted to come over was for food, and it's a pain to get a ride, so I decided to not go over. I visit my parents every weekend, so it wasn't like I was missing out on a special day or anything, lol.
I was out in the woods doing a compass exercise with search and rescue this weekend, and we had to get up to the top of a bluff to find our flag point. I hit a rocky point and could only find hand holds at around chest height, and had to haul my body weight plus pack weight up until I could get a knee onto one of those hand hold spots.
I was amazed. I only recently got back into weight training, and I would not have been able to do that 2 months ago.
Today is Let’s Laugh Day. As I waked in a few minutes late to a meeting, one of my colleagues said “Apparently Elaine laughs a lot!” I gave her a puzzled look and she said that someone had just mentioned that laughing burns calories! It was a very creative way to say I’ve lost weight! 😂
I love this thread too! I appreciate being able to celebrate little and big wins with others on the same journey. But it is just as important for me to read about other people’s successes. It really helps me stay positive and inspired. Keep those posts coming, everyone!
Speaking as a parent, with grown children, any day you get to see your children is a special day. I haven't seen mine since Christmas.
My parents and I are in a constant battle to not inconvenience each other, lol. It's how we show that we care. I did not want to inconvenience them by making them drive me back home after dinner.
Oh, also I saw them anyways because they came over to help me put on my spare tire, lol.
I have been going to an exercise class 3x a week since September called Clubbersize (if you haven't heard of it, it's basically dancing in the dark to dance tunes with glow sticks - it's amazing!) and one of the songs we learnt in November-time has 72 star jumps in, in 2 rounds, with this weird jumping thing in the middle of them. When I first started, I managed about 8 star jumps per round. Now, I'm managing all 72 and the advanced moves on all other dances! Made even better with the fact that I walk home after said class up a MASSIVE hill which I managed to RUN up AFTER raving for an hour!
It may not seem a lot to some but it is so nice to feel such significant progression in my fitness💃😊
Fit into the smallest dress I've ever bought. Size 8, bought it the last time I lost weight for a work photo. Thought I was going to have to lose another ten to fit. It's definitely fitted, but I wouldn't say it's tight. Gonna wear it tomorrow to work.
In celebration, here is the first actual photo of me I'm posting on this account, a picture of me wearing the dress.
Edit: bonus cat included.
Edit edit: forgot to mention that this dress is so special because it's the only piece of "skinny" clothing that I kept. I couldn't bear to get rid of it, both because it was so pretty but also because it may have been the last remnant of hope that I could lose the weight again.
I just touched my toes for the first time in at least a decade. Without pulling any muscles. Feet shoulder-width apart, knees flexed slightly.
I've seen people palm the floor with their feet apart and their knees locked, but 1.) I can't do that, and 2.) I'm not sure it's a healthy exercise anyway.
I wish I never did fall off the wagon when I started in 2015. But I am here again now. Had a mini goal to lose 5lbs in March. Lost 6.8lbs so far and March isn't even over.

I feel so strong!
Wow. This really hit me.
I’m calling mum and dad today!

Finally broke a 10 minute mile!
