Most recent NSV is buying a size 12 dress, haven't been that size since before having my son 6 years ago! On top of that I wore the dress a couple weeks later and it is now a little loose. Everywhere I go wearing it I receive compliments on how good I look in it21

Down two pants and shirt sizes, soon I'll be out of the X+ sizes and in the SMLXL size range! (34 lb lost since 7/1/19)18

my 2nd pair of weight loss shorts that were tight a couple months back are already WAY too big. Time to go shopping AGAIN12

I've been consistent on MFP for 2 weeks in a row!
As many others, I've started and stopped so many times that I've lost count. But I'm feeling determined and motivated at the same time and will ride this wave as long as possible. Then when the wave crashes, as I'm sure it will, I'll have to really dig into that determination Wish me luck!25 -
Today I became reacquainted with a hole in my belt I haven't interacted with in quite some time. Without sucking in and cutting of circulation.32

I have a watermelon on the floor of my bedroom because....children. 3 of them, a fresh 6, 3.5, & not yet 18m.
Which is also why those sheets piled on the bed are so darn wrinkly
Our bedroom is just off the front hall and the kitchen is very near to that. We have an old house with limited counter space. Watermelons live on the floor so they don’t take up valuable space/kids can’t roll them off onto the floor to make a mess.
However, this means watermelons become “balls.” Once it ended up in the bedroom we left it so the kids wouldn’t find it as easily
Didn't look at picture closely so watermelon on floor "went over my head" 🤣
Ha!!
I was standing in the bedroom taking the picture and didn’t manage to see it until someone else pointed it out2 -
Took my measurements and lost about an inch or 1/2inch EVERYWHERE. Each measurement was smaller! It has only been a month between measurements Talk about motivating!!15

I went to cross the border into Canada yesterday, handed over my ID, and the officer said "you need a new picture. This doesn't even LOOK like you!"
I loved it.29 -
Yesterday sucked so much you guys. I stopped at the grocery store and stood staring at the cakes for like, 10 solid minutes. Nobody would have blamed me. Everyone goes off the rails every now and then. Just once wouldn't hurt...
I didn't do it. I bought a box of Halloween candy, had 2 mini Aeros, and then completed the 500 Squat Challenge again.
A funny thing happened around the 250 squat mark. For the first time in my life, I experienced a 'second wind' firsthand. My fitness level has never been good enough for that, everything always hurt so much. But at 250 squats suddenly I was breathing easier and in less pain.
Surreal. Lol.
Isn't that just the best feeling ever?! I get that often when I'm running.... I'll hit a point where everything hurts and I'm struggling to keep my breathing right and then all of the sudden you just feel like you're floating. Its amazing, once you get over the hump and hit that rhythm.13 -
I was at work, and an inmate called me by the wrong name. The other officer with me said, "No, this is Brittni. She and Brooke are both skinny with dark hair and the same glasses, so easy mix up."
This other girl, I'm mistaken for a lot. I always attributed it to the hair and glasses, so it was kind of a surprise to hear the word skinny to describe me. And this other girl is built like a model. Tall and willowy. That boosted my confidence a bit.
I also went to the pool with my husband to meet a few of his friends from high school and we spent the day with them. It always takes me a long time to work up the courage to strip down to just my swimsuit and actually get in the water, and his friends made a couple comments to him of why I shouldn't be self conscious because they think I'm hot.
So, as uncomfortable as I am to know that his friends find me attractive, another ego booster right there.20 -
Today I decided to officially switch to maintenance. My health markers are great, I can easily fit into all my clothes, my workout habits are rock-solid, and for the first time in my life, my eating habits are also steady, healthy, and sustainable. I have struggled my entire life to become this person, and now I'm here. Time to enjoy it!57

Got the go ahead for “normal” activity from the dr after surgery, so I’m finally back at the gym! No strenuous cardio (high impact) or lifting until next week, but even so, it feels good to move after two weeks of inactivity 😊22

Tommorrow morning, I am leaving for my third road trip since late June (the "formal" completion of my post hip replacements PT). The NSV here is that one year ago, I would not have even entertained the notion, as all my "required as needed" driving was for years wrought with difficulty (getting in/out of car), discomfort, pain and diminished mobility (walking). Today, it's all systems GO!22

This is so awesome, great job! Car comfort is something I never really thought about until I started losing weight. I am quite short so having the pedals be close enough often required my stomach be right up against the steering wheel. Now, I have tons of room and don't even have to have the steering wheel close anymore to reach the pedals.11 -
Was at the dentist today with my youngest and wanted to sit in the room with them. There was a big piece of equipment in the way and the nurse said, let me move this out the way for you...then she said "YOU'RE TINY, SO YOU CAN SQUEEZE BY THIS MACHINE WITH NO PROBLEM".
You're "SO TINY"?!?!???!!!??? I haven't heard anyone call me TINY in many, many, MANY moons. Such a smile from ear to ear NSV for me today. Boom and YAY!
You're "so tiny".....WOW!!!!!!!!
Another one is my FAVORITE pair of size 8 boyfriend jeans are getting so loose around my waist, I need a belt to keep them from falling down/off of me. So my daughter has this REALLY CUTE belt, I asked if I could wear. Tried it on, and it was too small, I would have needed to punch a whole in it to fit. Why is this an NSV...my daughter is a size 2-4, so even though it was too small, what a tremendous thing that I could kinda sorta almost KINDA fit it--it was definitely too small, but to even dare try made me feel so GOOD!17 -
My bras fit like they should even during pms which is major. Pants I bought for my bday 2 years ago now fit beautifully I could tear up.
My greatest thing is I can start to see myself as worthy and valuable because I am sticking to the work. It’s a complicated thing.31 -
I've been on this journey since St. Patrick's Day of 2017. I initially lost 58 lbs and kept if off for the most time with some minor ups and downs along the way. This past April I was diagnosed with bilateral knee and lumbar spine arthritis. Getting old sucks. I had been going to the gym 3-4 times a week and was seeing amazing results only to have to stop completely due to incapacitating pain. Finally the pain has diminished enough that I went back to the gym yesterday and spoke with a personal trainer. We discussed what type of weights I should be using and how to use them so I don't put any undue strain on my joints. So back to Day #1 on my never ending ride. Done it before, time to do it again. Believe it or not, I actually got a compliment today saying I looked like I lost weight. I know I didn't but it still feels great.20

I've learned to cut myself some slack. This is a big thing for me.
On Monday I had a routine check up for my inflammatory arthritis, which included a chest x-ray to confirm that my lungs aren't being affected by the medications I'm taking. Always been fine before, so thought no more about it.
Yesterday I got a call from the nurse who's involved with my care to state that there are some issues with the results. Firstly, I have two broken ribs. Secondly, there's an area of concern but they think it's just where I wasn't filling my lungs with air properly due to the broken ribs. More x-rays in 4-6 weeks' time to ensure that the opacity has cleared.
I can only assume that the collision I was in caused the broken ribs. A&E did not pick this up, despite doing a chest x-ray at the time. And that explains whys the pain I was in, especially when breathing in, seemed over the top in comparison to the injuries at that site.
I've been so desperate to get back into things, have a new bike (insurance paid out), new helmet, etc, I've been walking miles (15 on Monday, 12 on Tuesday, 8 yesterday) had a physio check me over on Monday (she also gave me clearance to start running, etc again) and now this.
But you know what? I'm just going to go with the flow on this. I'm hopefully going to talk to the physio again today just to check that I can do the things I'd planned to and if my plans have to be changed, so be it.39
