My first post. I was at a friends house last night for our monthly game night. Wearing my skinny jeans that actually look pretty good now (size smaller than 6 months ago) and people were commenting on my weight loss! Yay - so at least its finally showing. And when they wanted the scoop on what I was doing ....ie the big "secret", they looked shocked and disappointed when I said - It's simple math- "calories in/calories out"! I told them that I log every bite, cocktail, etc and try to burn 300-400 calories a day in a workout to be able to enjoy it all. No one wants to hear the boring, mathy, work part.
Yes!! They all ask about the big secret and then when they realize it is no magic cure and they have to put in effort, suddenly its unappealing. Why, though?! It's such a simple concept, and the farther along you get, the easier it is to stick with it. If you want it so badly, go get it!10 -
Saw the doctor today and he said to monitor my BP at home for 2 weeks. If it stays in the normal range, I can come off of both medications!33

I'm eating much more protein and fibre atm, and I've been having a bit of trouble with indigestion because I'm still working on listening to my body to tell when I'm full. Late tea tonight and I wolf down my portion of our toad in the hole, with beans and kale (all things I absolutely love) and then stare at the kids plates and all the bits they have left. My nsv is that I listened to the logical part of my brain, and got up for a glass of water, waited ten minutes telling myself that if I was still hungry after that I could have more but that realistically I wouldn't be, based on what was on my plate. Now the urge has gone, I'm full and not as uncomfortable as if I had kept eating just because it was there and 😋
Feeling pretty smug right now.30 -
I have a 14-inch calf now. (: Just a little bit more and I might be able to fit into normal width tall boots. Didn't think I'd ever be under 15, and now I'm a whole inch under.22

Ugg, the struggle is real!! I’ve always had thick calves and it’s impossible to find good tall boots. And my dog just peed on my favorite pair last week. 😥

Finally skirt weather here so I tried on my pencil corduroy skirt 2p (I'm 4'11") and it wasn't a perfect fit anymore but loose! Half my skirts are loose! Nice that I'm smaller but sad I lost 3 inches off my best ASSet...13

Had to travel far to find a parkrun that was actually happening (thank you, Storms Ciara, Dennis and Jorge) - most are flooded or waterlogged.
We just made it in time (had to go to another country) and ran better than of recent times but was very disappointed by the result. But were were running through a flooded path, into a headwind for half the distance.
Until I realised that it was our second fastest time this year
And it was a lovely parkrun, right by a very high river that was rushing past; the noise of the river drowned out almost all other sound. It was quite soothing. Well worth the travelling.
It's the small things . . . like not getting soaked head to foot when the weather forecast virtually guaranteed it . . . running through puddles (which I've always tried to avoid but after today discovered that it's a fun thing to do) . . . parkrunning on the 29th February (it's not happened before and won't again until 2048 - I may or may not still be running in almost three decades) . . . being high-fived by the sweetest marshal ever (who was about four years old) . . . running up the sneaky little hill towards the funnel . . . and getting there.15 -
I had to fly on business this past week. It was my first flight in over a year and I'm down a lot of weight since the last air trip. I actually looked forward to not having to get a seatbelt extender (which was an awesome feeling), but the part that I had not considered is that I could use the tray table again! It had been *years* since I last was able to actually use the dang tray table on an airplane. My tummy was always in the way. Used it as much as possible this time. Awesome.32

Actually figuring out my first exercise plan in a while (a combo of the 8fit app premium plan and strength-based circuit training). That'll do me until mid-April or so, then I'll go back into 5x5/StrongLifts aka "my happy place"11

I hadnt gotten round to washing my swimming costume after the other day (bad me!) so had to go wardrobe raiding. I have a swimming costume that’s a size down and in a bra band size smaller than I think I am. It still had tags on. It fit and it was supportive with the built in bra bit so it’s my new best costume!25

Hello all! After having success with MFP in 2016 I experience some issues with mental health and gained back the 30 pounds I lost plus more. This week I am back and have some NSVs to share.
1. I completed week one of C25K
2. I pushed up into a back bend!28 -
Yesterday I managed to do some knee pushups - before, my stomach was too much in the way. It wasn't pretty but I did them. Today I tried the leg press for the first time and did my first 5 reps of a deadlift. I started at 100 pounds so I wouldn't mess myself up figuring out my form.17

I bought my first piece of clothing without an 'X' in the size.45

Hey all! My energy level is soaring! I went to work, and after I got home I did some chores, straightened up my living and dining rooms, cooked a real dinner, and even did the dishes! Normally I'd get home from work and lay on the couch for an hour or two, then microwave a sad unsatisfying dinner before laying on the couch some more, for lack of energy. I feel like I un-aged! This is such a great time, when I "rediscover" all the benefits of a solid, healthful routine!22

Today, I went to a multi church seminar so got to see my old church family whom I haven't seen in 12 years or so. Two said I looked skinny, one said beautiful, and one said I looked younger. Also, I safely avoided the copious amounts of unhealthy snacks during breaks by filling up on hot tea and walking around the facility doing several laps. I did grab a scone but then walking back to my seat thought, I'm so close to goal - is it worth it? So I ended up giving it to my friend.20

Today I finally felt confident enough to just out the tape measure and get some data points for future comparison. I don’t have any recent data to compare it too, but it will be my baseline for the coming months.
I also wore the too-tight jeans I posted about a couple of weeks back. They fit OK now but I can definitely feel them holding me back when walking compared to my regular trousers.12 -
I said no to carry out at work, three days in a row. Which says a lot, because I'm pregnant and let me tell you, I want to eat ALL the things.
The first day, it was a pizza and donut party. These were good donuts, too. From an actual bakery, not gas station or drive through. I politely declined the donut that was offered to me, and accepted one slice of pizza. I had some extra calories to work with so I fit it in without compromising my goals
Second day was Chinese. Ugh, that beef chow mein sounded amazing. And smelled even better. My coworkers all ordered and asked if I wanted to order any when they did, and I declined again.
Third day, this morning, was pizza again. This time I did not take a slice.
The sense of self-empowerment by being able to say no is so much more rewarding than the food itself.29
