And if you have shin splints, yeah, rest those legs and get to them later. I never had shin splints but I had other injuries where I had to temporarily run less miles while I heal.0

Glad you found something you enjoy! I've also found that I enjoy running. I'm rather slow, but love the freedom, flexibility, and outdoorsiness (though it's getting quite HOT here now!). For shin splints, ice will help for treatment, but for prevention, make sure to stretch your calves after every run.
