    Wow, emma. Gorgeous!!
I got my usual swim in. Didn't stay for the cardio class. I was waiting for them to shut down the lane for it at 5:30, so I kept swimming. By the time the lane shut down, I decided my legs were tired enough...

@emmab0902 So where the heck is that at? Looks fantastic.
As a runner some times I pick events for the scenery - not the event itself.

Did my 2.6km ocean swim event today at Mount Maunganui. It's a surf beach and I am NOT experienced - was hard work getting past the waves. But I was stoked to get the silver medal in the 45-49 age group, against some very strong surf swimmers. Time was 38.22.

I did swim for a little bit today :)
Did 33 lengths (825 yards) freestyle in about 18 minutes.
I'm trying to fit anywhere between 33 and 66 lengths each time I go.

Congratulations, emma!!! That's fantastic! And you weren't feeling very great this week too :). Awesome swim!

There are some great swims here. I haven't been in since Thursday. Long weekend prevented it. My sister and I have a 15K run next weekend, so I'll need to get some laps in this week. I love all of the effort and enthusiasm on this forum!

Faced my final swim fear today - circle swim. I've come a long way from that time a few years back when I walked out of the locker room, saw all the lanes were occupied and noped right out of there rather than ask someone to split a lane with me. I'm super self conscious about my extreme lack of speed, but with 12 people there for masters swim and only 4 lanes, circle swim it was.

Then we went out with the group afterwards for breakfast. Super weird to see people without swim caps but really nice to get to know people.

Way to get out there. I know how not fun that can be. I still hesitate to circle because I know that if I'm coming out to join two swimmers (especially stronger, faster ones) and I'm joining them when I'm not warmed up, I feel like I'm being chased for the better part of my workout. What I'm finding out though, is that not everybody is as fast as I think. Sometimes circling is just fine. The challenge is when someone is doing sprints and the rest of us are just doing steady work. But is usually works itself out. I'm motivated by food, so I would have stayed and done the workout just so I could join everyone at breakfast!!

    Congrats for braving the circle.
Circle is the worst for me. More so when I'm inn China. Over 90% can't do anything but a slow breast stroke. Yet the get in the fast lane.
Once you figure out timing to decrease getting kicked and scratched, it gets easier.
