A Mom that needs to take care of herself!

Hello all!

I started Myfitnesspal ten days ago at 36 years old, 220 pounds. I have weighed over 200 since my first baby at 22. Now, seven more children later, I still do. I find I spend all my time taking care of my kids, my husband, my home- and I have really neglected my health.

Then, my 58 year-old, overweight, diabetic Dad had a major heart attack. He lived, but remains in stage IV heart failure. At the hospital I decided I would never make my kids go through what my brothers and I have.

I am doing great- Working out every day and sticking to my calorie count. I have lost three pounds!

Great to get encouragement here!

I get it, Mama. I'm a mom of three. My husband works crazy shifts so I spend most of my time taking care of them/house/pets/etc. One day it just kind of hit me how unhealthy I've allowed myself to become. Us mama's have to stick together. Add me if you'd like!

    Hi there!
I'm 34 years old with an almost-3-year old and I've struggled to get below the 200 mark since having him (I'm eerily close to your weight, too). I also have a diabetic dad (close to your dad's age, he's 54). Being a mom is so fun and so rewarding, but it IS hard to focus on yourself. Between work, my husband and my son, I come last. I had foot surgery back in June, so I haven't been able to work out, so I'm trying to focus on my diet in the meantime. Feel free to add me as a friend, too!
