Test road a Giant Defy 5 today

So i had today off from work and i made a visit to my LBS.
I did a test ride on a 2015 Giant Defy 5!
Compared to my rigid steel frame big box store MTB with nobby tires it was like riding a Ferrari!
At $600 seems like a great deal.
Does anyone own one of these?
I know the Claris components are not the best but compared to what i have now its a huge step up.
I was a little concerned about the gearing (34/50 double crank & 11/32 cassette) but i climbed a decent hill on the test ride without a problem! My MTB has a 28/38/48 triple crank with a 14/28 cassette.
I still want to test ride a Fuji Sportiff, and a Specialized Allez.
Maybe Santa will be kind to me this year !

I don't have a Defy, but my first 2 bikes were and are Giant, both of them were TCR's so they are more racing configuration. However Giant are very reliable bikes, there handling is great and they generally hold their value really well.
I will be the first to tell you this, make sure that you get fitted correctly for the bike because no matter what bike you buy, if it doesn't fit properly it will be uncomfortable to spend any time in the saddle.
As I am sure you have come to realise, everything is replaceable on the bike so as long as you have a solid frame that fits you, you can always upgrade componentry and wheels as you go.0
