Hi - I've been on MFP for a few weeks, and actually had this site recommended by my doctor (can't get better than that!).
I've been an advocate of eating healthy (or at least healthier..) and exercising for the sole purpose of sticking around as long as I can for my family...and looking good on the beach...okay...thats two sole purposes (you get the point).
Looking for folks in the community that are looking for someone to give/get support from, and have a passion for being well.
I've tried several ways of tackling my goals (weights, cardio, personal traininers...ect.ect....). Found happiness and success with home workout programs and serious determination/ self discipline.
Eating healthy is not nearly as enjoyable as eating 'bad' food....until you purge you system...then the bad food....really does seem bad!
I work hard and maintian discipline so I can treat myself to the occassional slice of deepdish , glass of wine, and enjoy those outings with friends and family....life is too short to not enjoy it all.
I've hit my target weight (actually lost the last 4 stubborn pounds within a week and a half of joining MFP), and am now looking to maintain and stay motivated.
Good luck to all, and feel free to add me I'm passionate about the buddy system and support groups!
(I'll post a pic eventually....I'm usually the one holding the camera vs. being on the other side of the lens...)
