Trying to figure it out

i used to weigh 165 my entire adult life and looked great but gained 20 lbs and held on to it for a few years. Decided to lose it and began eating healthy and running. I then lost the 20 lbs and also another 10 lbs. I began reading up a lot on weight loss and learned from Jillian Michaels about the calorie defecit requirements to lose weight the smart and healthy way. Since i didnt count my calories, i think i starved myself... Even tho i didnt feel hungry. From remembering what i ate, i came up with a daily intake of less than 900 calories. I think i lost muscle, and im still not happy with whats in the mirror. Im as low as 155 but still look less out of shape and chubby as i used to look at 165. What happened? Old age? Am i complaining on the wrong site since im trying to gain healthy weight?
