I have a girls night tomorrow night, and my one friend is pregnant and was craving Texas Roadhouse, so that is where dinner will be. I'm fine with not no alcohol, that won't be hard for me. It's the food part. What do you think is the healthiest choice there? I should have quite a few calories to use there, but still don't want to go overboard :) TIA!

Texas roadhouse is AMAZING!! most of the food is in the database... so if you browse thru that it will help decide. Have fun and enjoy!

The 6 o dallas filet. There is no fat in a filet and 6 oz is perfect portion size. Also, be sure to get salad with dressing on the side don't don't be tempted by options like the grean beans (which seam healthy but have bacon in it) or the baked potato plain (unless you don't eat the skin as it is coated with salt and bacon grease)

I used to work at Texas Road House...Oh and STAY AWAY FROM THE BREAD AND BUTTER!

When dining out, I usually go for steak, baked potato with sour cream (no butter), and salad with a non-creamy dressing. I avoid deep fried anything and pass on dessert. Plan ahead by estimating calories on menu item if they don't list nutrition info on the website. Drink lots of water. Have fun!

Check their website for calories. And try to only eat half of your meal. I always make two meals out of mine.

They don't post nutritional information, but unless you take it light all day, I'd stick with the Dallas filet, salad with no cheese and non-creamy dressing on the side (and it does have egg) baked or sweet potato plain (with very little butter or sour cream or plain and no skin). Most locations also offer salmon if you prefer, but they do put a lemon sauce on it and I'm not sure of the cals so probably ask for it on the side if you go that way and you might be able to get away with a 6 oz sirloin as well, but I always go with a 6 oz filet.
