Anybody want to join me? www.hundredpushups.com

I see there is another thread going on right now, but it looks like they've been going on for a while so I figured I'd start a new one for any late comers like myself.

I took my initial test last night (only got 17 :frown: ) I think I'll start on Monday and do them Mon/Wed/Fri, then if my arms are still alive, I may try and work with some weights on Tuesday and Thursday. I gotta get rid of the Man Boobs!!!

Heres a great way to start off the way I did: Do leaning pushups, against railings, window sills whatever, you can get stronger without doing the real pushups, until your ready to get on the floor and do the real ones!

Ha, when I first read this I thought you were talking about sit ups and was like, 'you can only get 17???' I was thinking, I can even get more than that!! But then I realized you were talking about push ups and well, I applaud you for getting 17! I was doing level 2 of 30 day shred and I managed two, before flopping and banging my face off the floor!! Ha!

I'll give another whirl. I have bad wrists, so we'll see how it goes.

I've been working on this (also the 200 situps.) Let me tell you it gets really hard around week 3 and 4, I'm on week 4 now, and by "on week 4" I mean I've been doing the program for something like 7 or 8 weeks straight, and I'm currently trying to complete week 4! I've done some searching and apparently that's the way it goes for most people, each week is not really a true week.

lol, that was funny. Truth is, I might not be able to squeeze out 17 situps.

I expect it will be tough, but that's what I need right now. I'm glad you guys are joining me.

So, today is the day. Yeah, it's the holiday, but oh well. I'm going to get started this afternoon sometime, I look forward to hearing everyone's results!

    Week One Day One

I got my butt kicked on column three. I got all of the reps done except the last set. I was supposed to get at least 9 and only could squeeze out 3. :ohwell:
  • Don't be too hard on yourself! I was doing the 100 pushup challenge and I think I only narrowly averted a total elbow and shoulder disaster! I was pushing myself pretty hard and in week three I started showing signs of tendonitis. Good form is key and it's okay not to progress quite as fast as the program suggests!

    Thanks!

Wow, glad you didn't injure yourself.

I don't know whether to drop down to the second column or just do what I can and restart week one.

Yeah it's always that last set that kills. Just failed week 4 day 1 on the last set by 6 pushups (need 32, did 26).

That's pretty awesome that you could 26 on your last set. Looks like I'll be restarting week 1.

Today went better. I finished all the reps and I can definitely feel the pain!

    How's everybody else doing?
