Protein.....or lack thereof!

MFP projects me as needing 59g of protein per day..... after all my meals (which included lean chicken, egg whites and peanut butter in terms of protein) I still need about 30grams to meet my daily goal.... I do work out, and I really have been avoiding taking protein supplements because I feel like I wouldn't burn all the fat from the protein powder... and people have been telling me that I don't need protein powder unless I really want big muscles, etc.. I try to go to the gym every day for an hour, I burn about 300 cals in cardio and I do some strength as well (curves circuit training)... should I be taking protein powder?

You don't need to take protein powder, but you do need more protein. MFP sets you at 15%, which is the minimum for a healthy person. You're at about 7%...people in the US rarely see protein deficiency, but it causes severe health problems.

My nutritionist told that a person needs 75-100 grams of protein a day so that is what I eat daily. I do supplement with Body Fortress Protein Shots, which have 110 calories, no fat, carbs or sugar and 26 grams of protein, after exercising.
