Ok...so I have a HRM...it tells me how many calories I burn during a work out. How do I know if it is telling me the correct calories burned? Compared to the Wii Fit for 39 minutes I should have only burned like 267 calories but according to the HRM it said lie 554. Which one should I believe?

I have the Polar Ft4, and I programmed my weight and height in it. It also has the chest strap. If u have the HRM with the chest strap, I would go with the HRM for the calories burned . It is more accurate.

I am not sure what others think, but I believe the HRM because you enter in your age, weight, and you set up your heart rate zones. It is actually measuring your heart rate so to me it has a more accurate gauge of how you are doing.

Go with the HRM. Wii makes assumptions about height, weight and fitness level. The HRM is set up for you.

Well my HRM didnt ask for my weight...when I got it it only asked for my age. I guess that I got a cheap one...IDK

Then neither is accurate. Maybe split the difference?

I know with the wii you enter age and weight also, and while I know it doesn't monitor the heart I would stick with that simply because without that info how does your monitor know your cal burn for you versus anyone else that puts it on??? IDK either, good luck though! :)
