Conflict of...well...something's just not right

So I've been eating better, exercising more. I feel better. I feel like I look better. I got a, "You look really good today - have you lost weight?" statement this morning. But then I weighed in and I gained weight. What's up with that?

Seems like when I feel I've lost weight, I've gained. And when I feel fat and like I gained, I usually show a loss.

Has this happened to you?

Do you measure yourself? Maybe you lost inches, but gained a few lbs. It happens. Usually it's just water and other stuff.

It's prob. water weight.. I wouldn't worry too much unless it doesn't drop in a few days. Watch your salt intake... thats the biggest culprit of water weight!
  • defiantly measure yourself every few weeks and thats a much better indication of weight loss than scales.

Yeah I've gone through this same thing. I found that if I measure myself every so often, all it right in my little world. LOL

    Totally agree.....

When you think about the amount of water in the body, Water is how all body function are facilitated. Whether you have lost some weight or repair muscle, In these times sometimes the body will hand on to a little extra water to facilitate these functions. It will go down. i.e. when we lose fat, it occurs through urine, If you are not drining water it is unable to shed the weight, May not be sodium at all could just be that your body needs to hang on the a little extra to facilitate the extra functions that you are causing. it is a good thing. will go down.........

Watch your salt intake because it will make you retain water. You may have lost fat inches &the gain muscle mass.don't obsess over the scale.I go through this myself. Feel free to addme if you like.we can keep each other motivated, don't get discouraged

I was going to post the same thing this morning. The last few days I have felt huge like I gained 3 pounds (and thought it looked like it in the mirror also), but when I weighed this morning I have lost a pound since last week. I have had that several times now since I started this (April) and a lot of the days I think I gained I actually lose or at least maintain. Weird....

Just went thru this yesterday/today. Felt low because my scales didn't give me any love on my weekly weigh-in (only .2 down from last week after a HELLUVA lot of work). So I guzzled water yesterday, ALL DAY, and guess what? Got my loss! Sodium is sneaky. Get hydrated!

I thoroughly recommend measuring key body areas as well.
I have every saying I look so much better and I haven't lost or really done anything yet :/
