Too much sugar?

Hi there! I've only been on here for a little over a week& I'm loving the site but I've noticed that it is crazy easy to go over my sugar intake. For instance, breakfast today was 6 oz of fat free plain yogurt (very sour, no added sugar) and a medium apple (also natural sugar) and some crystal lite (no sugar), yet I only have 5 grams of sugar left for the day. At this rate I will be seeing those ugly red numbers every day. What can I do to cut out more sugar? My daily goal was automatically set at 30. Is that unreasonable? It feels like it is.
Thanks in advance....

I'm always over my sugar intake too, but I eat alot of foods with natural sugar, I wouldn't be too worried about.0

Don't worry too much about natural fruit sugars, obviously don't eat a whole bag of grapes or anything but natural sugar isn't as bad as processed sugar, the same as fats like olive oil and in nuts aren't as bad as those in butter and sausages. hth!0

just stop tracking it, unless you're eating junk food then don't worry about it0

I go over EVERYDAY just by eating natural sugars. I wouldn't worry about it though. As long as you are sticking to natural sugars like fruits, whole grains then you should be fine0

I stopped tracking mine, but sugar is sugar no matter where you get it. The only reason sugar from fruit is "better" is because fruit has other health benefits that eating just a spoonful of refined sugar will not give you.0

As long as your aren't eating junk food, soda, or candy, I wouldn't worry about it. If you exercise, it will add more of your sugar allowance for the day if that will ease your mind. I'm always over almost every day from the amount of fruit I eat. No major worries! You can always hide it!
Good luck!0 -
Thanks for the replies. Besides the occasional ice cream, I don't really eat refined sugars. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one going way over! I still have 2 meals and a snack left today, but I plan on a really good, hard workout so I will earn some more as well.0
