What will you be grilling for Labor Day? My dad invited me over and told me he had White rice, Bratwursts, macaroni salad, chips & ice cream on the menu. So I replied with "I'll bring my own food since I don't eat that stuff anymore :P"

I'll be bringing:

salmon
Shrimp kebabs
fresh corn
red, green & yellow peppers

I'll be bringing enough for everyone not just myself in hopes my parents will eat that instead of Bratwursts :::prayer:::

I am nervous about overeating on Labor Day. I always get stuck bringing a dessert! I am going to have to find something low fat that everyone will like. I would like to try making Shrimp Kebabs too.

Both menu items sound good, but obviously one is better for you than the other.

I am enjoying this weekend with some ribs and brisket along with what ever everyone else brings. I plan to eat in moderation and drink comfortably. I am so blessed to have my bday fall on labor day weekend so I can enjoy with those that I like or love

I'm stuck bringing a desert that literally has over 800 cals. I haven't figured out how to make separate food for myself without offending someone.

I'm excited to cookout for Labor Day this year! We plan on grilling fresh sweet corn, mix of veggies - zucchini, squash, broccoli, tomatoes, asparagus and anything else I can find to throw on!! We will also be having marinated skinless chicken breasts. Yummy and healthy meals - love them!! :)
  • Sis!! IDK what I'm going to do while I'm away this weekend.
Today - Drive 6hrs to So-Cal (packed fresh fruits for snacks -- mom surprised me with these healthy eats)
Saturday - Cousin's wedding (say no to the cake)
Sunday - Newlywed's family party (all day & eating in moderation)
Monday - Drive another 6hrs to come home.. LOL!!! I gotta run to the store before we leave! HAHA

ENJOY YOURSELF! You can bring what you wanna eat but if there's something you like thats not exactly healthy eat it with a moderation disclaimer.

I will try to BBQ some ribs or just steak and chicken.

You are right to avoid the Bratwurst. Sausages have a HUGE amount of calories.

WAY TO GO MOM!! That's awesome ;D

Hmm well if you haven't had a cheat day in awhile I'd say enjoy the family party. And refuel on your fruits before you drive back lol :)
