Starting Somewhere

Hi Everyone,
I've finally decided to introduce myself as I have been using this program off and on and reading your posts for about a month now. Specifically I read one woman's posts how friends make friends stay accountable, make your journal public, etc. So tomorrow, as I'm on my way to bed now, will be a new day. I'm done feeling uncomfortable and you may think I've been like this for a long time. Oh no. Not like this. I've always struggle with my weight always hovering around 185lb. Well I would kill to be there now, funny or not funny, I was there 3 months ago. July 2011. My wedding day. But lets go back to February when I bought my dress. The saleswoman took my measurements and said size 18. I said order a 16. I'm not walking down the isle and looking at my wedding photos for the rest of my life at a size 18. Well the big day, I was a size 14 and the dress had to be taken in a bit. I was so stressed out those months, planning the wedding and much more stressful fitting into a dress I didn't have as there was a mail strike here in Canada and my dress didn't arrive until 4 days before my wedding. So I had no idea was I too big, way too big. I look amazing in my wedding pictures. And felt wonderful.
3 months and 30 lbs later, the feeling of not having to count every little bite of fear of ruining my wedding gone. I've lost total control. I mean obviously.
So I'd love friends on here. I am getting started tomorrow. I have all the tools, the 30DS, which made me look toned in my wedding pics even at 185lbs. The gym membership, knowledge of nutrition. My issue is eating way too much. Portions. Being alone, I eat. I need the first push to get me to start. I know because 3 months ago I was on a role. I want that back.
Any friends with a polite push to get me started would be awesome. And I will push you too, once I'm pushed.
Thanks for reading!
Jess

Hi Jess,
Here in Canada too. I so can relate to your post. I too dieted before my wedding (some 22 years ago). However when that goal passed, there was no real incentive to keep the weight off and I gained. I have also gained and lost so many times, I have lost track - after each of my 4 kids, high school reunions etc. I have done most of this through Weight Watchers in the past. I now weigh probably about the same as I did when I was 9 months pregnant, which is unbelievable. At my highest weight starting this time, about a month ago, I was about 65 pounds heavier than when I got married. I do have some goals again this time, but I think what I need to do is keep accountable and to do this to really for better health, energy and for the long term. I love this site as it keeps me accountable. I am updated with everyone's progress each day. It really makes you aware of what you are eating. I gain inspiration reading the posts and success stories before I go to bed. All the best with your weight loss journey. Feel free to add me if you like.0 -
