Hi everyone!
Okay well, I have a major problem when it comes to Halloween candy... it magically disappears as soon as I spot it! o.O haha, joking aside though, I went way over my calorie goals this past weekend and in doing so I was totally preparing myself for at least a 5 lb gain. But when I weighed myself this morning I was totally shocked to see not only did I not gain weight, I actually lost, and more than I usually do in a week. I've been losing a consistent 1lb per week and this time is was close to 2lbs. o.O yeah, so to my point... Does this mean I'm actually not eating enough calories? Going off of since I lost more when I ate more... or is it just a weird fluke. Any and all comments are welcome. Thanks in advance.
P.S. Diary is open to all. XD But please don't be mean about this weekened. haha.

You can't really tell from one week. But you can try eating a little more for a few weeks and see what happens.0

That has happened to me twice... last Saturday night I ate HORRIBLY and even had a few drinks! I weighed in at being down two pounds! If you are consistently eating a lot below your calorie goal it may actually be slowing your weight loss... or maybe the extra calories recharged your system0

I've had some weird flukes like that too. Sometimes when I think I've hit a plateau, I might have a weekend where I eat more than I probably should and then by Monday, the plateau is over and I've lost some weight. People talk a lot about mixing things up to "trick your body" or something... i'm not so sure about tricking it but I do feel like there's something to doing something unexpected. Meh... good for you. Enjoy your candy, it's halloween but don't go nuts, right?
I'm pretty sure if we OD'd on candy all the time, we wouldn't keep loosing weight every week! I'm kind of a strong believer in not suffering. If I never enjoyed some candy, I wouldn't stick with this so I try to eat right most of the time and enjoy the occassional splurge.

You are eating way below your net just about every single day. Some days you aren't even netting 1000 calories, so yes, you do need to eat more.0

On another community weight loss board a lot of people noticed they would lose a large amount of weight or at least more weight after a once in awhile splurge. Some people on this board went as far as making sure they splurged at one meal every week. They believed what they were doing was fooling their metabolism. The body supposedly thinks that you are going to start feeding it again and jacks up the metabolism only to have you start eating low calories again. Their is one person on the board that swears by it and even as a website related to this topic. I'll email the site to you.0

I am very confused because you are consistently eating well UNDER your calorie goal. IMHO you need to eat more! Eat what MFP tells you! Your metabolism needs the calories and you will still lose weight! You are eating way below your net just about every single day. Thank you both for your help, I know that you're supposed to eat back your exercised calories and stuff but I guess I'm kinda terrified that if I eat more that I'll gain my weight back. Whenever I used to in the past for my body it just didn't work out the same so I try to eat at least 1,200 calories a day and then exercise without eating it back.... well unless I'm hungry, I really do 'no pun intended' follow my gut. XD Thank you again though! I'll try and eat a little more just to see what happens.0 -

Thanks you guys!I've heard something about tricking your body and what not to kick start weight loss again so maybe that was it.
I guess I'll slowly build up my calorie intake then... maybe by like 100 each week?? I honestly don't think I could eat more than 1,500 per day, I'm so stuffed some days now! XD
Lol @ tdmcmains- I know but it's so hard not to go nuts! XD I have a love hate relationship with chocolate...Unfortunately it hates my hips. XD You're right though, I think occasional splurges are good too, but I doubt I would keep losing weight if I ate like the weekend everyday. XD I'm just not one of those lucky girls...
Yay! @ snookumuss- I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. XD Thank you I'm gonna try that for a while to see what happens.
Thanks again everyone!0
