Johnny Cash's remake of the NIN song Hurt. I want to sob every time I hear it, his grief is so clear.

Oh, and Pomp and Circumstance (aka - that song they play at graduation)

It took me 8.5 years to get my 4 year degree - just kept chipping away at it, but finally got there. Hard to believe that was 14 years ago. I've even paid off my student loans!! That took 13 years!

I guess it's not a sad song - it just makes me a bit emotional.

"Almost Lover" - A Fine Frenzy. It's so pretty but so so sad.

I agree with "On Angel's Wings." Also, "Ave Maria", and "Here I Am, Lord." Those three church songs have been in my family for years, and every time I hear it when I go to church, I cry because those are always used at Funerals.

The old country song "Daddy's Hands" by Holly Dunn reminds me of the great times I had with my dad when I was a little girl.

And Allison Kraus's version of "When you Say Nothing At All", because that was my mom's favorite song.

whitney houston I will always love you has made me cry for the past 16 years, because it was the last thing my father sang to me before he took his own life. I heard it again on the date he died last year and as I was out with my daughter a huge joy swept over me and I quietly thanked him for teaching me unconditional love. Not sure if it will make me cry the next time I hear it or if I will be okay with it now

"Hello" by Evanescence. You don't hear it much cuz she refuses to perform it in public. It's about her sister that died when she was in grade school & how she coped. Powerful song!
