    You're absolutely right, I have no idea how you personally measure whether you have gained or lost muscle. Maybe you could explain how you are tracking your progress to me?

    Your body fat scale and handheld monitor, then this formula:

    Weight x Body fat percentage = Pounds of fat
    Weight - Pounds of fat = Pounds of lean body mass.

    Is it possible that you are lower then that. I h\ve been tested at 22-23% today and I do not have as much deffinition as you do

    Maybe. But I have a lot of fat on my lower body.

    I also think it matters how you test for body fat. I currently use the Navy circumference method and it tells me that I am 30.4% body fat. I don't know if that's entirely accurate or not, because I feel like I am probably closer to about 26% or so (ignore my profile, that is an older picture where I was 22% measured with calipers). I think unless we shell out the money to have body fat professionally tested, there is always going to be a margin of error.

    I tend to have more body fat in my waistline which most likely makes the Navy method show me at slightly higher fat than what I really am. But, I use the bf% more as a progression tool. If I lose inches in my waist, the bf% will go down using Navy, so I like to see the change over time rather than the actual number. To get to my goal bf%, according to Navy I should be at about a 24" waist. I honestly do NOT think I have to get that bone thin to get to my goal, lol.

    I want to make sure I've got this formula right.

    Your body fat scale and handheld monitor, then this formula:

    Weight x Body fat percentage = Pounds of fat
    Weight - Pounds of fat = Pounds of lean body mass.

    So last week I weighed 77.4kg & had BF% of 8%. LBM = 71.2kg

    This week I weighed 78.8kg & had BF% of 7.7%. LBM = 72.7kg.

    Does this mean that I gained 1.5kg of muscle in a week?

    Did you do TaeBo with 4 lb weights instead of 3lb weights. I heard that can give you muscular arms.

    You mean that I am doing all wrong? Damn my 20-30 pounds dumbbells and 100 pounds barbells.

    According to those pics I'd place myself at around 17% body fat. You can see my arm/ shoulder muscles, but no abs. None at all. But I have had 3 kids and do have loose skin on my belly area.... I don't know if I'll ever see them!

    Actually were you using weights filled with "muscle" because those 3lbs regular weights would weigh less than 3lbs "muscle" filled weights.
